Date Night in Cafe Juanita

June 2, 2012

Cafe Juanita
#19 West Capitolyo Drive
Barrio Capitolyo, Pasig City
6330357   7101562

After closing a deal with a furniture shop in the area, DH and I spotted Cafe Juanita. I would have mistaken it as an old house if not for the signage seated on top of the deck.

Cafe Juanita

We walked in without reservation. Girl, am I glad we were given a table! This is one Asian Fusion restaurant that we would be going back for more...

Korea Chronicle: Mount Sorak (Seoraksan National Park)

My visit: December 25, 2011

Day 3 (morning)

Seoraksan National Park
Korea

We brought two Canon cameras (IXUS 860IS & 350D) for our Korea trip. DH even got his tripod packed together with his clothes. You can just imagine how many luggage that we brought with us lol Anyway, what's my point?! I think the stunning view that we captured with our cameras speaks for itself! The agony of bringing 5 luggage is well worth it!

Mt. Sorak

DH & I were at Mt. Sorak on Christmas day. The view is breathtaking! Can I just say that it is picture perfect too?

New find: Casa Roces Malacañan

My visit: November 29, 2011

1153 J.P. Laurel St. cor.
Aguado St., San Miguel, Manila

Casa Roces is an ancestral house-turned-restaurant by the Roces clan. It is operated by The Cravings Group and is situated near Malacañan Palace.

Our friend, JSY, suggested this restaurant and I immediately said yes. I was hoping for a very satisfying dinner with good friends.

Traveling from Quezon City to Manila was a breeze. DH and I were ahead of everyone else. Most of our friends were late because of the horrible holiday traffic. Anyway, we ordered our drinks and a salad while waiting for the others to arrive.

Photo shown was my order- over baked salmon welling. Mashed potato and a few pieces of asparagus were included in my order as side dishes. It was like eating a pie. It was already sliced into half, it's perfect if you are sharing this with a friend.

The 2nd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition

My visit: February 26, 2011

Competing countries: China and France
Seaside Blvd., Mall of Asia
7pm

Last Saturday at around 5pm, I got a phone call from our dear friend, JS, asking if we want to watch The 2nd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition featuring the countries China and France together with her family. DH and I were a bit hesitant at first because of the horrendous traffic we have experience a few years ago. Back then it was only a showcase of fireworks display.  Imagine coming home around 2am or was it 3am with a very full bladder so we vowed never to return again.

But we took JS words in stride when she said "We are going to be seated front and center with food and drinks." OMG, she was not kidding when she said those words. The pyromusical display was like watching a 3D movie with the firework display coming right at me as I was seated literally in front and center of it all.

pyromusical entry from France

Sonya's Secret Garden & Teresa's Garden Restaurant

Ok, Sonya's Garden may not be a secret anymore because it has literally grown in size right before my eyes! Before, only a few were able to get into their list but now you can go as you please because the place is huge! I would still suggest making a reservation if you are celebrating an important occasion like Christmas.

DH took all the foliage photos below using my Canon IXUS 860IS.

All I want for Christmas: Canon S95

I think I have been good for the whole year. And if Santa is reading this post, he will get a hint what I want for Christmas ; p

In the next few days, I will try and make a series of posts about what I want for Chistmas, so Santa will have a choice hehe

My Canon IXUS 860IS have been with me for several years. With it I learned and have improved capturing wonderful food and fashion photos. I love it dearly. I really should give it a name lol

Singapore Flyer took my breath away!

My visit: November 15, 2010

30 Raffles Avenue
Singapore

Day 2

I have my reliable Canon Ixus 860IS throughout my Singapore trip. I am so glad I brought it with me. I took the photo below while my capsule was on the topmost part of the Singapore Flyer. The view was exhilarating!

 view from the top

I am afraid of heights. When AC and I were in Taipei a couple of years ago, I couldn't even ride Miramar Ferris Wheel which is 70 meters tall. Taller than London Eye (135 meters), Singapore Flyer stands 165 meters and can accommodate 786 people at a time. A capsule as big as a bus has a capacity of 28 pax. A cycle is approximately 30 minutes.

Rhett Eala celebrating 20 years!

My event: October 5, 2010

Whitespace
2314 Chino Roces Ave. Extension,
Makati City

The invite states 6pm. A few minutes before 6pm, I was already there but a courteous parking attendant wouldn't let me park inside instead he pointed street parking to me where numerous policemen in motorcycle facilitated the parking. A few minutes before the show begins, I know why.

with Jacques Christophe Branellec of Jewelmer and Rhett Eala

It was my second time to meet Jacques of Jewelmer. He is as nice as ever. Rhett Eala gave in for a photo op request. He is a very humble guy.

Moving clouds in Cliff House Tagaytay

I captured a moving cloud

While in Tagaytay Cliff House looking up the blue sky, I saw these clouds moving fast. Quickly, I captured it on my Canon Ixus 860IS.

Everything is perfect that day! I put on comfy clothes and flat sandals so I can scout each and every store on the list provided. I got a shopping buddy, AC as SALE spotter. I'm always in fashion lol) if I found a something something that proves to be irresistible.

A Kanebo makeover at SM Sta Mesa

My visit: July 29, 2010

Kanebo
SM Sta. Mesa

The make over was not planned. My mom and I always make sure to pass by the Kanebo counter to inquire when the next SM 3 day sale would be. The ever pleasing Leslie was at the counter and she warmly greeted us and answer our questions about the sunblocks available.
