Recycling in Quezon City

Since transferring to Quezon City, I have been made aware of segregating our trash. Every now and then, our barangay sends out a notice reminding us the schedule of collection and proper segregation of our trash. At first, it was a bit difficult to adjust but then our house hold staffs and I were able to manage.

2 of the four trash bins you need PhP2000 each

Don't get excited! These trash bins were not sold by the barangay to us. DH and I bought it in one of the plastic distributor in Malabon, BJMP Plastics (distributor of Zooey Plastic), where bulk purchases are given appropriate discount. Color choices are blue, green and yellow. A bigger trash bin costs PhP2600.

Remember When... Bean Bag

vintage bean bag lol

I save this bean bags from retirement. I bought this pair from Blue Magic- a local store that sells quirky items- when I was still single. My dad was supposed to disposed these bean bags a few weeks ago. Good thing, my mom told me about it. I took it home and asked my DB to buy a sack of styroballs in Divisoria as filler.

And now, it's as good as new in my room. Now, how do I clear the scent of mold? lol

Do you have a bean bag? Do you used to own one?

Caught on cam: Malls into recycling

I was elated when I saw these segregated trash can in the two malls that I have visited recently.

SM Megamall

I really appreciate what these malls are doing for our planet. Sana nga lang marunong tayong magtapon sa tamang lalagyan.

Recycle: non working personal refrigerator

GE personal ref

Our GE stainless personal refrigerator gave up on us after 5 years. Yeah, that's about the expiration of the warranty the company offers for the compressor. We wanted to have the compressor fix but that would cost us almost PhP8, 000. I know, right? it's like buying a new refrigerator. So, we decided to just do away with a personal refrigerator in our bed room.

some office supplies and cookies lol

When we bought a new writing desk and gave away our old study table, we ended up with files and no place to accommodate it. DH had a light bulb moment and suggested using our non working refrigerator as cabinet to all our files.

files

The idea worked! Our files were neatly tucked in plus I can still store cookies and other junk inside it.

some medicines and other knick-knacks

It looks like a normal ref when closed and you are in for a surprise when opened lol

How about you have you recycled anything lately?
