Dine at Lugang Cafe and Get 50% off with Metrobank

December 12, 2012

Lugang Cafe
The Block, SM North EDSA
Pag-Asa 1, Quezon City

While shopping in Uniqlo and Forever 21, I spotted a crowd near Lugang Cafe. I saw a promo signage that says you get a 50% off your bill with a Metrobank Plantinum Mastercard or Metrobank World Mastercard. Now, I have three different credit cards but none of them is a Metrobank Mastercard...boo!

Just the same, my parents and I waited to be seated. In less than a few minutes, we were ushered to our seats. I recognized the head waiter from Crystal Jade Greenhills ; p

Anyway, before we came in, I saw a "soft opening" sign posted near the entrance. I already prepared myself for longer serving and waiting time for our food.

For our orders, read after the break...

New Year's Eve in Hongdae (Hongik University)

My visit: December 31, 2011

Day 9 (4th day DIY Seoul Tour)

Hongdae (Hongik Daehakgy University)
Seoul, Korea

We went to Hongdae twice in one day. You will know why as you read along. Hongdae is an abbreviation of Hongik Daehakgy. Hongik University is an art school, other than that the area is well known for entertainment/clubs, coffee shops and of course, shopping!

Hongik at night

We went there on a Sunday, suffice to say, the banks are all close. When you are out of the country, you lose track of time. That's what happened to us but how the hell do we suppose to know that there isn't a single money exchange in the area? Now, you know why we have to go back the second time. But before that let me tell you more about what happened that day.

Golden Bay Fresh Seafoods Restaurant offers 50% off dim sum!

My visit: September 10, 2011

Block A2 CBP
Diosdado Macapagal Blvd.,
Pasay City
5567525   5567527   8040332

DH and I ate in Golden Bay right after we send-off my DSIL to the airport. At 11 a.m., we were the first customers for the day. I saw in the paper handout that there was an ongoing promotion.

All 72 dimsum selection including congee, dumpling, desserts, rice roll and cake are 50% off until September 30, 2011. Of course, we didn't order all 72. We only ordered 9 lol

 xo radish cake PhP72.50

First on the list, xo radish cake. This dish is quite hot because of the xo sauce but very crispy and delicious. We were not able to finish this order because we ordered a lot for two persons. I ate the rest of the xo radish cake with rice the next day and I can't get enough of it!

Dim Sum- a Chinese dish of small steamed of fried savory dumplings containing various fillings served as a snack or main course.

XO sauce- spicy seafood sauce.

Reunion at Lugang Cafe in Greenhills!

My visit: August 19, 2011

Lugang Cafe
116 Connecticut St.,
Greenhills, San Juan

When my "CareBear" friend, Marilene, invited DH and I over to her son's 1st birthday party a few weeks ago, I saw a lot of familiar faces but didn't quite get the chance to talk to all of them. We agreed to set a date and place for our mini reunion. It took place in Lugang Cafe, Greenhills 2 nights ago.

my elementary classmates

I am still a bit sleepy as I am typing this entry because I went home at around 12:30am and slept at around 2 am. Talk about getting high from being so happy to see my old friends. Plus, I drank a large cup of WinterMelon Milk Tea  ; p

Kao-Chi Restaurant

My visit: December 4, 2010

Kao-Chi Restaurant
109 NS Amoranto,
Maharlika, Quezon City
4107788   4107799

DH had been bugging me to try a new Chinese restaurant right in front of where we have our car washed.  Finally, we were able to try Kao-Chi Restaurant. I was expecting simple interior much like the ones in Banawe area. But I was taken aback. The ambiance was like that of Choi Garden. Red, dimly-lit and a few couches with blue lights on one of its wall panel.

When we learned that they are offering Shanghai cuisine. We were kind of disappointed. When we were in Shanghai, the food was not compatible with our palate. Shanghai cuisine is hot. We set our expectations low and ordered our food.

We had two appetizers to start with:

 honey glazed spare ribs PhP188

Think of your saucer plate, now that's how tiny the serving is.

Crystal Jade Greenhills

My visit: November 18, 2010

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao
Unit 117- 121 Virra Mall
Greenhills Shopping Center
5706910   5706912

Since its opening, people were lining non stop for this restaurant. After two months from its opening date, I was finally able to try this restaurant with my parents.

There were a few vacant tables when we went in. An over eager waiter approached our table and started to talk us into ordering almost everything in multiple of two. Whoa! I told him jokingly "Tatlo lang kami, ano kami... baboy?" ; p And he continued on to tell me that the people on the other table ordered quite a lot. I countered that we can only eat so much.

Here's what we have ordered:

sauteed chicken with cashew nuts in spicy sauce (served with pancake) PhP288

The order is smaller than what it looks like in the photo but was good enough for all three of us. It's not overly spicy. It has just the right kick in it. I wrap mine with the pancake included. The pancakes are much like the ones Chinese restaurants serve with a Peking duck order.
