My visit: March 11-14, 2009
It was a fun-filled vacation that my friends and I have last March. We decided to go and hit the beach to jump start the summer season. Although a bit different since we are traveling alone sans our husbands. It is an all girls vacation!!

We stayed in La Carmela de Boracay. Sounds familiar? This was because you heard it being promoted almost everyday in the now defunct show Boy & Kris.
We wanted a hotel that is beach front and at the middle of it all. We got what we wanted. The hotel is located in station 2. It is closer to station 3 than D'Mall which is right smack in he middle of it all. For PhP3, 800 per night quad sharing, it is not bad at all. We don't have a problem with walking anyway. Walking equals shopping ;p When our feet got tired we can always ride a tricycle for PhP7 per pax.
The hotel is in the process of adding a new wing at the back of the old one. Although the new Executive wing is operational, we have decided on taking our old reservation. Finishing touches is on going so we opt to stay in the old one. Also the new wing features pool which faces the road lol Only a gate separates you from the road outside.

We were given a room on the ground floor but decided against it. Why? We entered a downy scented room. The scent was too strong that you can't stand it even for a minute. We requested to be transfered. We looked into several other rooms. Bigger and pricier?... nah. We settled for the one on the third floor. For one, Sun cell has a signal which was basically the priority of some of our friends who are moms so that they can communicate with their children. And the rooms has an airy feel to it. A bit of Downy scent is present but is more tolerable.
