If you are in my age group, you probably would have heard of Barrio Fiesta, a restaurant frequented by families when special occasions arises. Now, three generations later, brothers Tyrone and Tristan Ongpauco decided to create a bistro style restaurant located in San Miguel by the Bay called IBAYO. Ibayo is a local term for "the next town". The restaurant wanted to have a signature of its own yet it also wanted to retain its classic favorite. Thus, making this a classic Filipino dining experience with a modern twist!

Last Wednesday, I was one of the bloggers who, luckily, was invited to taste Ibayo.

Here are the feast that fellow bloggers and I were able to partake of:

 Ibayo Firesticks

This appetizer was served first and it's really good! I love the cheese and the "hot" sauce combined!

Mama Chit's Special PhP695 (good for 4-5 persons)

I must admit, I was not able to taste all the food but was just hopping from table to table to take the pictures of the food. And with so much food on the table, you don't think I can eat it all, do you? haha

kuhol sa gata PhP180

Definitely not on my list, but the kuhol sa gata was gone the moment it was placed on our table! It turned out to be a favorite amongst the blogger seated on my table lol

crispy pata PhP425 (regular); PhP525 (large)

I was able to try the crispy pata. If DH is reading this, he will be jealous! It's his favorite! And this one didn't disappoint. Crispy on the outside, tender inside!

 kare- kare seafood PhP399

bicol express PhP160

Ibayo crispy catfish PhP230/ 330g

I ordered this basically because pork was everywhere. We needed fish on our table too. Don't be scared of this dish it's a must try!

kare- kare PhP220 (regular); PhP 350 (family)

bulalo steak PhP280

I was a bit apprehensive trying this dish but I conquered my fear of yikes- bulalo kasi lol I had a bite and it's delicious!

Here are other food that was served but if I am not mistaken was not on their menu.

tortang talong

Ibayo white adobo

It's their take on a local favorite adobo without the soy sauce!

 pinakbet

 paella

 puto bumbung PhP65

 majablaco PhP65

turon ala mode PhP75

I have heard some bloggers raving about puto bumbung but I like turon ala mode. I can't say no to anything with ice cream! ; p

With so many good food, it's like fiesta! I enjoyed the food so much that I am now thinking of cooking up another promo, what do you think?
