March is officially the start of summer vacation! While some of you have already booked a trip out of the country or are heading to the beach, I, on the other hand, spent a day in a spa! And not just in any other spa, it has to be The Spa ; )
I was happy when I got a personal invitation from Ms. Drey Dumancas, Marketing and Communications Manager of The Spa, to try two of their newest treatments- The Purifying Back Treatment and The Express Facial.
And so, one Wednesday afternoon, I booked an appointment and spent almost 2 hours inside a Premier suite.
The Spa Eastwood Premier Suite
Premier Suite is a private room with your very own shower area, jacuzzi and a massage bed. A set of toiletries, several towels, a comfy bath robe and shorts were also provided. Calming background music completes the set up for a serene experience. Complimentary ginger tea will be served inside the room upon request along with a glass of water. By availing of the Premier Suite, you get an additional 30 minute relaxing stay inside the room.

I was quite intimidated when these machines were brought in by the therapist. But nothing to worry about because these are just magnifying glass and steamer used to open the skin's pores.
Moving on with the treatments. First, I was treated with The Purifying Back Treatment PhP1400 (Premier Suite rate).

Duration of the treatment: 45 minutes
The treatment started out with the cleansing of my back and then gentle exfoliation. After that the therapist used the steamer to open up my pores for about 10 minutes or so. When she got back, she cleaned my back using a pricking/extracting tool- I honestly don't know what to call it. The best part of it all, was the massage afterwards. My thoughts were lingering until she called me to say that my first treatment was already done. Uh, that was fast lol

Duration of treatment: 30 minutes
After settling a huge pillow behind me, the therapist cleanse my face with a phyto- gel cleanser and then applied a gentle exfoliating cleanser. The steamer was used once again to open up my pores but only for a few minutes this time. I know I'll be benefiting from this treatment because I have quite few blackheads. I love how I can feel the steam on my face. I was secretly visualizing my pores opening up to the steam lol Quite an imagination I have haha After taking out my blackheads, the therapist applied Water lily After Sun Soothing Wrap. It was left on my face for a few minutes. My eyes were covered with wet tissues. After awhile, the therapist wipe off the mask and apply in massaging motion the soothing sensitive skin cream. It was such a treat!
