AirAsia Zest Event
One Serendra Function Room

It is not a secret that DH and I love to travel. We travel at least once a year, twice, if we have extra money ;p Anyway, Shanghai-Beijing-Shanghai was one trip abroad that I will never forget. It was unforgettable not because of the Great Wall of China but because of the meal served on-board. During our flight back to Shanghai, I was served with what looks like diced meat teeming with gooey sauce. To be honest and more specific, it looked like it was taken straight out of a can of dog food. Eeew! Needless to say, I will never fly with that airline ever again!

I am glad to know that there's one airline, AirAsia Zest, that gives a lot of thought about their in-flight menu. There's a lot of treats that await you as you cruise 35,000 ft. above ground.

Hot Meals are now available for pre-booking!

What's more exciting is that AirAsia Zest now allows you to pre-book your hot meals as you book your seats. You can feast on up to 2 meals per flight. You can do this via the "Manage My Booking" tab on their website.

When you pre-book hot meals at AirAsia.com, you get a 15% discount and as well as a complimentary 100ml bottled water. That's what I call a deal!

To find out what's on their in-flight menu, read after the break...

Chicken Adobo ala Mariles

Who doesn't love Chicken Adobo? I, for one, cook adobo at least once a week. Chicken Adobo ala Mariles consists of my favorite part of the chicken- breast. The chicken is cooked in vinegar, soy sauce, bay leaves and peppercorns. Truly, one of the best known Filipino dished here and abroad!

Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak

It was my very first time to taste Nasi Lemak and I must say AirAsia Zest version knocked me off my feet. It's spicy yet it kept me coming back for more.

Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak is Malaysia's Signature dish. The rice is cooked with coconut milk and it is served with chicken rendang and sambal sauce. To complete the meal, anchovies, peanuts and half a slice of hard boiled egg are included with this set.

Presenting AirAsia Zest's Christmas Meal....

Honey Glazed Chicken

Honey Glazed Chicken is my favorite among the hot meals served during the event. The taste reminded me of my own version of Chinese Chicken Adobo which is on the sweet side.

Dalandan Soda and Christmas Brownie

The brownies, on the other hand, reminded me of my mom's oven-baked brownies that I used to eat as a child when I get home from school. Simply delish!

Here's the good news! Starting December 1, 2013, you can book AirAsia Zest's Christmas Meal which includes Honey Glazed Chicken, a can of Dalandan Soda and Christmas Brownie for only PhP 299!

Sandwiches (not in the photo) like Chicken Caesar and Roasted Chicken with Sundried Tomato are also available on-board AirAsia Zest's in-flight menu.

Everybody loves dessert and AirAsia Zest's selection does not disappoint. Just take a look at the following photos below...

I would describe the AirAsia Zest Chocolate Chip Cookies as soft, tasty, chewy and chocolate-y.
