December 25 was a day of many firsts. It was our first time to visit the newest mall in the country, SM Aura Premier and it is also our first visit to a fancy restaurant called COCA.

It is founded in 1957 by a husband and wife tandem, Mr. Srichai Phanphensophon and Mrs. Patama. It started out as a 20-seater Cantonese restaurant. With its immediate success, it expanded to a 150-seater restaurant in Soi Tantawan, Thailand where the suki style cooking was introduced.

In Thai Sukiyaki, the cooking option allowed diners to comfortably choose from meat, seafood and fresh vegetables served separately on small dishes instead of the traditional large single order so they can order more varieties.

Roast Duck Salad PhP 380

Anyway, since it was Christmas Day, DH and I were all out in ordering items from their menu. We started with Roast Duck Salad. It was good and appetizing. By the way, COCA translates to appetizing in Thai.

Read more after the break....

Trio of Jelly Fish PhP 380

COCA Noodles PhP 320

Crispy Roasted Pork PhP 320

Crispy roasted pork has crispy skin and tender meat, dip it in mustard sauce for the full experience.

Duck Breast in Fresh Orange Sauce PhP 750

You can order an inexpensive version of this duck breast in your favorite Chinese restaurant instead.

COCA Portuguese Chicken PhP 650

Steamed Kurobuta PhP 650

Steamed Kurobuta was supposed to be my daughter's dinner but it was served last. This was served after repeated requests from several frazzled waiters around us. Oh, well, it was Christmas day but the restaurant was not full, so go figure.

Stir Fried Morning Glory PhP 300

DH was attracted to the fancy name when he ordered stir fried morning glory which is a glorified kangkong to you and me hahaha Next time, he will have to keep in mind to ask first before ordering lol

COCA Yang Chow Fried Rice PhP 300

Thai Iced Tea PhP 90; Coke PhP 70

Be ready to shell out more money than usual in this restaurant, after all, you are dining in a fancy restaurant with a classy ambiance.

We have no more room in our tummy for the Thai Sukiyaki. It is something to look forward to when I go back.

Senior Citizen discount was applied. Usual charges like service charge and 12% VAT are included in the bill.
