Baby Proofing: Secure-A-Lock & Outlet Cover w/ Keys

Now that baby girl is able to crawl and walk with the help of a traditional walker called andador, it's about time that I child proof (aka as Baby Proofing 101) our home.

peek-a-boo! baby opening and closing cabinet doors

A few days ago, I posted the photo above on Instagram. Yesterday, I was surprised that she was able to reach a bottle of Bactidol inside. In the process, the bottle was dropped on the floor. Yes, it was a messy crime scene. Thank God, she was safe!

Anyway, after cleaning up the pile of mess. I vow to find a suitable preventive measure to prevent her from opening cabinet doors.

Home Improvement: OMNI adaptors

Since I put up my Christmas decor, I have been looking for different adaptors available in the market. I have some bad buys and finally settled for these.

 universal adaptor with switch

Ok, this type I use it on my laptop computer. See my previous post. I changed my old brand to Omni because this brand is more reliable. I found out that electricity still runs through even though the switch is off. This is more expensive at PhP80.

Have you experience spark when you plug the laptop adaptor directly to the power outlet? I experienced it every time. What I did so as not to surge huge amount of electricity directly on my macbook, is I plug the macbook adapter first to the outlet then to my macbook. The adapter still sparks but I believe it will not be harming my macbook as the other end is not yet connected.

But I found a better solution, I bought this universal adapter with safety switch for only PhP 49.75 at Ace Hardware in SM Megamall. Be sure to switch it to "off" position first before plugging into the electrical outlet. Connect the macbook adapter on one end to your laptop then plug the other end to the universal adapter before switching the safety switch on. I have not experienced any spark after that!

Hope this tip helped!

UPDATE: I changed brands... I switched to OMNI.

Home Improvement: Omni Sensor

This light sensor is very useful specially if you are like DH and I who sleep with light closed. Often times, I wake up in the middle of the night to pee and I get my knees or any part of my leg bumped into nearby furniture and/or the sides and corners of our bed. The morning I wake up I get all kinds of bruises not knowing where I got it.

Omni light sensor

When I saw it in attached to an electrical socket in our room in Canada, I immediately liked it. It emits bright white light at night and in the morning, it turns off automatically. But I cannot buy it there in Canada, it is 110v. Luckily, I find one in SM hardware stores and with 3 designs to choose from. I asked all three to be tested and got the design which emitted brighter white light.

Now, I am happy and no more bruises.
