Laptop: Moshi Codex shell casing

This laptop bag has been with me since I bought my laptop 2 years ago. I am so happy to report that there are no scratches on the bag. The material used is durable and scratch proof. It is lightweight, insulted and ultra sleek. Other colors are available but I went with Metallic black as I have a black macbook. Such an OC!

I bought this shell casing in Power Mac Trinoma. A bit pricey at PhP 3500 but well worth it. You don't even have to remove your macbook from the shell casing when you use it. You just have to open the zip and work from there. But if you are a laptop slave like me who uses her laptop for hours, you can opt to take it out and place it on top of a laptop cooling fan.

I went to a Power Mac store in SM Megamall yesterday and I saw that they have lowered the price of a moshi codex at PhP 3000. Nice deal!

Laptop: universal adapter with safety switch

Have you experience spark when you plug the laptop adaptor directly to the power outlet? I experienced it every time. What I did so as not to surge huge amount of electricity directly on my macbook, is I plug the macbook adapter first to the outlet then to my macbook. The adapter still sparks but I believe it will not be harming my macbook as the other end is not yet connected.

But I found a better solution, I bought this universal adapter with safety switch for only PhP 49.75 at Ace Hardware in SM Megamall. Be sure to switch it to "off" position first before plugging into the electrical outlet. Connect the macbook adapter on one end to your laptop then plug the other end to the universal adapter before switching the safety switch on. I have not experienced any spark after that!

Hope this tip helped!

UPDATE: I changed brands... I switched to OMNI.

Laptop: cooling fan

I bought this laptop cooling fan from CD-R King for only PhP 380. I find this very useful since I am using my laptop for writing on my blog alone and surfing the net sometimes for more than five hours. A USB wire is provided.

Now, my laptop is cool. I can keep it inside my Moshi Codex shell casing immediately after I finish using it.

Go and grab one too!

My Mac is back!

I'm so happy to hear from my trusted friend, CML, that my macbook is with her already. The warranty still covers my laptop, just a few more days and my warranty expires.. whew! The hard drive was changed into a new one. My macbook currently has nothing in it, giving it a clean, fresh start. CML installed the operating system and that's it. Good as new. So, I'm all too excited to get my hands on my baby when I get back to Manila next week tee hee

My Macbook died on me!

September 6, 2008

I was eagerly playing my FFS on facebook when suddenly my mouse won't move and the screen on my laptop freeze. A few seconds later my mouse finds its way back to life but the screen is still frozen in time. I was panicking, you don't know how stupid I felt that time. Didn't know what to do, I told DH that the macbook was not working. He checked on the laptop and at first couldn't turn it off because all the buttons was not functioning but later on the power button was restored. Al the while I thought that it will get fixed as soon as we restart the computer but no, only a gray screen with a flashing ? mark sign was displayed. When this happened, I know we were out of luck.

When we arrived home, I quickly look for the accompanying manual for the mac book and slowly followed the instructions but to no avail. The screen still possess the gray screen and the ? mark still flashes onto the screen. Damn luck~ I looked for my receipt but it's nowhere to be found. Thankfully, I got my macbook from my very good friend, CKL, she still got my receipt and I handed here my macbook for repair.

It has been almost a week since I left my macbook with her. I will leave the Philippines without my macbook. On the brighter side, it is still under warranty and I found out yesterday that the hard drive must be the culprit. So much for bringing my laptop wherever I go. It died on me when I needed it the most. What tough luck~
