Icebergs is now Eskimo Bob!

My visit: November 11, 2009

Eskimo Bob
Level 4, Atrium
SM Megamall
Ortigas Center

I know Icebergs was known for its dessert called halo- halo. Now that's 2009, Icebergs reinvented itself and became the new Eskimo Bob. It was a cousin of mine who prodded me to give Eskimo Bob a try. JC said the restaurant offers good food.

When I was in SM Megamall early this week, lunch time was Eskimo Bob time. A few seats were taken outside, my DM and I opted to seat inside the restaurant because it was empty. I don't know if it's my lack of height but lulubog ka sa couch nila pag umupo ka bigla lol

interior lcd working or not?

The restaurant has a bright colorful interior. The LCD screen was not turned on even though diners started filling the place. I wonder if they turn it on or if it's just for display only hehe

Back in Wagamamu!

My visit: August 29, 2009

After such a long time, we came back to Wagamamu for dinner. Each time we dropped by, new faces would serve us. Too bad there free coffee with any order of entree before 5:30pm promo is already finished. I hope they would bring it back. Love their coffee!

Here are what we ordered:

buffalo wings

We ordered the buffalo wings for a second time because we wanted for it to redeem itself. The buffalo wings served were crispier and now with a strong flavor and kick to it. The blue cheese sauce is too bland and has a watery consistent. I requested for a honey mustard sauce instead. It works for me!

stir fried dory

I was not able to finished this dish because it was swimming with butter/ oil. I just ate half of it.

mango crepe

Alright, who am I kidding? I am just saving space in my stomach for this mango crepe lol Although the mango is not entirely ripe, I was able to finished this. Yum!

Now, writing this entree, ooops, entry, makes me hungry for more!

1/3 pound wagamamu burger

baby back ribs

Did ever tell you that I go back again and again in a restaurant when I feel like it? Well, take Hanobe for example. We went there twice remember in a week, remember? Last week, it was Wagamamu's turn. I was there Monday with C and back on Friday with DH. Oh, give us a break! Don't blame it on me... DH have not tried this restaurant and he is craving hamburger at that time, bakit ba?

But don't fret because there's a new entree that I've order and new promos to blog. And so here I am writing about Wagamamu once again.

Our orders did not come out in order. The entrees came out first while our appetizer came out last. The buffalo wings lack the spiciness and kick to it. Even its blue cheese sauce can't make up for the lack of taste. My ribs are a better choice, not fall off the bones but it's tender. The sauce is not thick though. I think it's too diluted for a bbq sauce. My DH has no complaints with his 1/3 pound Wagamamu burger.

Ah! Before I forget. Let me tell you about the promos they are having. You get a free hot cafe americano when you order an entree between 2pm- 6pm. Oh, and the Wagamamu visits card. You get to have it stamped when you consume PhP 500 worth of food and beverage. On the 10th visit you can get a complimentary discount card valid for a year.

Oh well, get your fill of their coffee now! I did! and I am not even a coffee drinker.

Wagamamu: second time around

After our free haircut at Tony & Jackey, C and I went back to Wagamamu for a hefty lunch. First, we noticed that it is now an all girls set up. The last time we were there, Mike was the waiter and from what we have learned he was terminated just over a week ago. tsismis haha
The girls who received us were all friendly.

C and I were supposed to be trying another restaurant but eventually settled for this one because the other restaurant is not within our budget lol

The lone waiter, Mike, quickly gave us the menu as he ushered us into our table. C asked if there is meaning to the restaurant's unique name. We learned that there is an asian restaurant in Australia named Wagamama. The owners just changed the last letter and there was really no meaning to it. Our server was kind enough to split most of our orders into two, our drinks included.

white chocco macademia latte- PhP 110

This is actually supposed to be an iced coffee but Mike says that it can be changed into ice blended one. It is originally priced at PhP 90. I like the taste because it reminded me of mocha frappucino of Starbucks.
almond roca loca- PhP 110

This one is a bit sweet and the flavor of the syrup is strong. C likes this than the first one.

onion rings with aioli- PhP 107

The onion rings has two sauces. The yellow one consists of mustard, mayo and secret spices while the white one is tartar sauce mixed with a lot of garlic. I liked the yellow one but then C told me to mixed the two together. The result was way better as compared to just dipping the onion rings in tartar sauce alone.

wagamamu burger- PhP 168

Another one that the restaurant split into two for us is their signature burger. With the generous slice of cheese, you can hardly taste the burger. I have to take a piece of the burger to taste it. You can eat the burger alone without the ketchup. I would request mine without mayo next time.

Despite of the heavy rain pour outside, we had a great time eating at this diner place.
