My event: August 20, 2010

The Body Shop
Greenbelt 4
Makati City

I already signed the petition, have you? The Body Shop not only sells bath and body line but also stands up and commits to what their founder, Anita Roddick, had started.

I already signed up!

Together with global partner, ECPAT, The Body Shop launched a signature campaign to stop sex trafficking of children and young people. The petition aims to put more funds in anti- trafficking campaign to improve law enforcement and for the provision of services to victims.

TBS is selling Stop Sex Trafficking bag and Soft Hands Kind Heart hand cream. All proceeds will be donated to ECPAT Philippines. ECPAT stands for End Child Prostitution Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. Your donations can help victims in their education, counseling and legal assistance.

A few minutes going to the venue, I wanted to make a statement of support of my own. Good thing, I got in my box the colors of the campaign- pink and yellow! And that's what I used.

Over a week ago, I cut out a petition form, similar to this, found inside the pages of Inquirer Broadsheet. I cut it, filed it up with my name and gave it back to the nearest TBS.

Last Friday, I trace my palm as a sign of raising and showing my hand along with everybody else who signed this petition. Together we can take this petition to the United Nations.

Billie Liboro- Palabyab of TBS
