Last Saturday, DH and I spent half day at the office and the other half in Sambo Kojin Yakiniku Smokeless Grill. It was the baptismal party of Ysabella Kim, the youngest daughter of my very good friend, Gevi.
Sambo Kojin The Japanese Kitchen God Three-headed deity with two pairs of hands. Bearer of fire, protector of the hearth, watcher of the household, keeper of the brotherhood.
Sambo Kojin napkin ; p
We arrived at half past twelve. I think we were among the last ones to arrive hahaha Talk about grand entrance ; p The family members and other guests were already seated while some were already making their second or third trip to the buffet table ; p Anyways, my other good friend, Cats, was able to reserve seats for DH and I. We were seated together with the proud parents of Kim ; ) Now, that's what I call... friendship!
Yakiniku means grilled meat
To check out the buffet spread in Sambo Kojin, proceed after the break....
Yakiniku 1
On buffet spread number 1 - ox tongue, vegetables and enoki mushrooms wrapped in thinly sliced meat and also barbecued meat.
Yakiniku 2
On buffet spread number 2 - marinated meat
Tempura haven
This is the only buffet that I have been to that never ran out of tempura shrimp ; p
Sushi
What is a Japanese restaurant without Sushi and Sashimi? Slices of salmon, tuna and tamago are available.
Dessert station
I was not able to taste the different kinds of cake available that day ; (
Shaved ice toppings
At least six kinds of fruits (watermelon, kiwi, banana, mango, pineapple and papaya) were available as topping that day. Almond jelly, kernel corn, black gulaman, mongo and beans were also available. Condensed milk, syrup and shaved ice were all situated at the end of the table.
Big Scoop ice cream
There were four flavors of Big Scoop Ice Cream available that day- Chocolate, Coffee, Strawberry and Vanilla.
What's on my plate:
1st plate- sushi
The only sushi that I don't like was the one in the foreground. I think that's cooked salmon. It was really hard to chew on. The rest was alright.
Shrimp Tempura
I think I had two or was it three shrimp tempura that day ; p hahaha
(clockwise left to right) toki chicken, beef stew, salmon head, jap chae and dumpling
Except for the dumpling, I like the beef stew, jap chae, chicken and salmon head, in that order.
Kamameshi rice
You can request Kamameshi rice from the waiter.
Kamameshi rice means "kettle rice". It is a traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an iron pot called a kama - SOURCE
steamed egg and miso soup
DH placed a bowl of miso and steamed egg on our table. I don't know about the steamed egg because I was not able to taste it but the Miso soup was a bit salty.
Yakiniku Smokeless Grill
We were not as smelly as when we ate in Yakimix a few weeks ago so the smokeless grill must be working ; p
Sambo Kojin Yakiniku
I suggest that you get the marinated meat. it is more tender and tastier. DH loves the ox tongue as well as the grilled kamote.
lettuce wrap
available sauces for Sambo Kojin Yakiniku
Teriyaki and Sambo Kojin sauce are ok on its own but you can mix them both to create a new sauce which tastes better.
desserts - 4 Big Scoops Ice Cream, Mango Panna Cotta and a bowl of fresh fruits over shaved ice
I love the Coffee flavored ice cream!
We left around 2 pm. We were supposed to watch a movie right after but ended up getting a relaxing massage instead.
