This one is a long overdue post! I received a set of Asian Secrets products for review awhile back. I took the time out to test the product by combining whitening soap and the whitening body scrub.
Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub 250g PhP130
I used Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub with Seaweed Extract & Vitamin E pictured above left for over a month. I used it once a week not so much for its whitening property because I already have a fair complexion to begin with but more on exfoliation of dead skin cells.
What is lulur?
A beauty treatment which originated from the royal palaces of Java, Indonesia. It was originally intended for the bride-to-be in order to beautify, smoothen and whiten her skin before the wedding day.
rich, creamy texture
I like the product because of its light fragrant scent which I can smell immediately after opening the jar. I always scoop a handful and then spread the product all over my body concentrating on the knees and elbows. The direction says to use it while the skin is still dry so I followed it on my initial use. Sometimes, I forget and only remembered using it right after I soap my body. The product still works even on moist skin. Most of the time, I use it more than once a week because I like to scrub my elbows and knees frequently. Oh, and my armpit too!

rich, silky feel
lulur beads in action
After rinsing Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub, my skin felt smooth and moisturized. I can do away with body lotion afterwards because mineral oil is listed as one of its ingredients. The scent will linger on throughout the day.
Asian Secrets Lulur Indonesian Whitening Body Scrub is also available in Licorice and Mulberry Leaf Extract variant.
Asian Secrets Bengkoang Whitening Soap with Natural Antiseptic Betel Extract PhP70
With everyday use, Asian Secrets Bengkoang (Yam Bean Extract) Indonesian Whitening Soap with Moisturizing Olive Oil (not in the photo) lasted for a month. DH and I used it once a day.
What is Bengkoang?
It is a widely popular whitening ingredient in Indonesia that can be found in the islands of Sumatra and Java.
As I open a new bar of Asian Secrets Bengkoang Indonesian Whitening Soap with Natural Antiseptic Betel Extract, the scent reminded me of Irish Spring only milder. DH would surely love the manly scent.
I have not tried to use the soap on my face yet although it is written in the box that it can be use as a facial soap. The soap is dermatologist tested and hypo-allergenic.
Asian Secrets products are inexpensive. The Lulur body scrub is especially nice to give away to friends this holiday season!
