The Exchange Regency Residence Hotel

Remember my "rawr" outfit in this post which won me an overnight stay in The Exchange Regency Residence Hotel? Well, I was finally able to use my voucher and booked an overnight stay yesterday ; ) I picked November 2 because the day before, DH and I together with his family went to Manila Chinese Cemetery to visit the tombs of my in laws. The scorching heat was too much to bear. We really need this to recharge and re-energize plus the fact that it is also a long weekend ; p

After making a reservation last October 27, 2012, I received a confirmation by email of my booking from Arby, a Reservations Agent. On October 31, 2012, I received another email from a Front Office Agent named Patricia informing me that the hotel can accommodate an early check-in time of 12nn... yey!

Upon arrival, I gave the voucher together with the confirmation email I got a few days before. Oh, Identification card is needed upon check-in. The receptionist informed me that the PhP 2,000 deposit fee for incidentals was waived. As with any other hotel, I was told that any drinks consumed in the mini bar will be charged accordingly.
After checking my ID, the receptionist handed me a Key Card and 2 Breakfast Coupons. That was a fast check-in!
taken right after alighting the elevator on the 6th floor
tap key card and you are in!
We stayed in a non-smoking room on the 6th floor. It does not have a door latch maybe that's why the hotel installed a peephole door viewer instead.

The room was quite small, think about Hong Kong's hotel rooms but it was good enough for the two of us.
What's inside our room:
inside the cabinet: safety deposit box, blow dryer, 2 sets of slippers, laundry bag and hangers
coffee/tea making facilities, personal ref, and 2 complimentary small bottled water
full length mirror right outside toilet and bath
toilet (no bidet)
There were two sets of bath towels and also hand towels. A floor mat was also provided.

In the afternoon, DH and I went to Eastwood City Walk 2 to watch the movie, Skyfall- the latest James Bond movie. We bought two 5:10pm movie tickets. We still have an hour to spent before the movie starts so we decided to have a late lunch and an early dinner ; p Guess where we dined? Yes, for the second time in less than a month, we are back in Pho Hoa ; p We chose it because it was the closest to the movie theater and we know that it serves good food ; )

After watching Skyfall, we were still full from our late lunch/early dinner in Pho Hoa so DH and I headed to Swensen's for dessert ; p Don't you just hate it when the ice creams served to you were already melting? Well, that's exactly how our ice cream looks like. The ice creams that we ordered didn't look good in the photos. Oh, well!
DH commented that he like Haagen Dazs' version of Rum Raisin than Swensen's. My Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream has bits of graham crackers in it, I like it! No Service Charge

The next day, I woke up pretty early, around 7:30 am. After taking a shower, DH and I went down to Benassi Alimento E Caffe for breakfast. It is located right outside, in the corner of the hotel.
Americano and Apple Juice, guess which one was my order ; p
Apple Juice was my drink this morning.
Breakfast selection:
- Filipino PhP 300
- American PhP 310
- Continental PhP 300
- Vegetarian PhP 300
Vegetarian Breakfast: Fruit Cup
Vegetarian Breakfast: Garden Fresh Omelette with Homemade Toast (mushroom, bell pepper, tomatoes and onions)
For Vegetarian Breakfast, you can also opt for Pancakes with Maple Syrup and Butter instead of Garden Fresh Omelette with Homemande Toast.
Filipino Breakfast: Pork Tocino with pickled vegetables
A choice of House Blend Espresso or Americano/Tea or Chilled Fruit Juice is included in each Breakfast Set.
After our breakfast, I informed the front desk that we are checking out. A member of the housekeeping went to our room to see if we have consumed anything from the mini bar. After packing our things, we went back to the ground floor and surrendered our Key Card. Now, that's what I call an Express Check-Out ; p
Only one car per room is allowed to park in the basement parking area.
Overall, we had a pretty decent stay, the staff (from security guards to the front desk personnel to the housekeeping members) were all courteous. I just hope that the hotel will have a bigger bed and a larger LCD TV ; p
Next time I would stay in this hotel, I will make sure to bring my rubber shoes and swimsuit with me ; p
