Good news! After my desperate tweet and post in FaceBook, I was finally able to find the Lalaloopsy character that I was looking for in SM Sta. Mesa's Toy Kingdom Express. I think I bought the last piece available in the market lol Anyway, I am so happy that I got my hands on Cloud E. Sky.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart

I seldom buy anything on impulse but I find pink lipsticks irresistible. When I went to SM's 3 day sale last week, I bought several makeup products and that includes Revlon's New ColorBurst Lip Butter. It is not on sale but with SM Advantage card, it's 10% off when you pay between 10 a.m. to 12 n.n. Plus, I got an additional 5% off because my mom charged it to her BDO credit card with minimum purchase requirement of PhP5, 000. By the way, you can also opt to pay the charged amount in 3 monthly installments, 0% interest. How's that for fun shopping? lol

I was already waiting in line for my turn in one of the cashier counters in the makeup section when I saw Revlon's booth. Pressed for time, I asked the sales lady for a pink shade. I was given Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sweet Tart. A swatch at the back of my hand revealed a cute shade of pink. Without even thinking twice, I got one.

When my parents and I saw that Baang Coffee in SM Sta. Mesa was already opened, we went there to have our lunch. We have been waiting for it to open since we first saw the tarpaulin outside the still under construction coffee shop. 

The place was half full when we went in. We proceeded to the counter to order. My dad ordered Korean Beef Stew with rice, my mom had chicken adobo rice and I ordered Tocilog.

The chicken adobo was swimming in sauce which is not bad if it tasted good but the adobo was so dark. I guess  too much soy sauce was put in it. 

This dish came in late. We have to call the attention of the servers several times to follow up this order. By the time it was served, my dad and I were already finished with our meal.

If you are a follower of my blog, you would have noticed that I have been sporting new eyeglasses in recent events that I have attended. I bought it from a very reliable optical shop, Ideal Vision Center. It was my mom who first started buying contact lenses and eye glasses from Ideal Vision Center's branch in Quiapo. Now, with so many branches, we go to a branch nearest our place. 

It was Doc Michelle Q. who did my eye test. Thank God, I have the same grade for the past 10 years or so. She is knowledgeable in my queries about the different type of lens. My choices of lens are the ordinary PhP300, anti-glare PhP1, 200 and the transition lens PhP4, 800 which I will have to discuss in another post. You will know then what I ended up with haha

I went out to buy a few things today. My first stop was SM Sta. Mesa which was very near my place. They have a rerouting scheme done. Turned out the basement was still impassable. As we turned around, stench filled our car. That's the time I noticed that most security guards, workers and other people have put on masks on their faces. Ewwwww!

I couldn't stand the strong smell, I had to get out of there fast!

I have been searching for BPI ATMs in the vicinity but no luck. The ATMs have signs that either read OFFLINE or No Withdrawal. What's with BPI? I don't know about other banks. I hope this does not mean that people were all panicking and have already max out the ATMs.

I went to Metro Super Mart instead. The bread shelves are almost empty. I won't leave the store empty handed so I bought a Tostitos Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips. Now, as I am writing this blog, I'm eating it together with the All Natural Chunky Salsa. Delish!

Price WAR: SM vs Landmark

As I have related on my previous post, I was on the first day of the 3 day sale in SM Sta. Mesa.

I already have a list of what to buy and I also made sure to be there early so as to get the additional 10% discount on my purchase.

I was at Market! Market! mall a few weeks ago and I saw the price of Ruby Red apple display at PhP59.75 each. I was delighted to see that SM is selling it for only PhP49.75 each. A 10% discount is given on the cashier and if you have an SM Advantage card, an additional 10% off will be given to you as long as you shop between 10am to 12nn on the first day only. The price would now be down to PhP40 each. What a savings or so I thought!

Until I went to Landmark in Trinoma yesterday. The same Ruby red apple is sold for only PhP39.75 each and since the store is also on sale until August 31, a discount of 10% is given at the cashier. Exactly the same item but it is cheaper in Landmark.

I bought 20 pieces of apples in SM and an additional 5 pieces more in Landmark to fill the vase. Buti nalang it turned out great hehe Kung hindi ang sama na ng loob ko sa haba ng pinila ko sa SM lol

Follow up: I was in Robinson's Galleria and I saw the same red Washington apple priced at 50% off from the original price of PhP99. What?? OK lang ang Robinson's?

Accidental Host

My mom and I were in SM Sta. Mesa today. SM Sta. Mesa is having a 3 day sale today until Sunday. And from 10am to 12nn, almost all items have an additional 10% off when you present your SM Advantage card. And to top it all, SM is conducting an hourly raffle from 1pm to 10pm everyday for three days.

We were stuck in traffic due to huge turn out of people. A successful event, I suppose! Who says the Philippines is affected by retrenchments and bad economy.

After lunch, my mom and I went to drop our stubs in the 1pm raffle box. We arrived a few seconds before they close the 1pm box. I was clapping and standing, typical me, excited lol All the while the main host together with a DTI representative invited me over to pick the winner. I was game!

I was already in front before I could say YES to them lol But I hesitated when I remembered what will happen when I got my own stub. They said it's OK. So, game on! Sayang din un prize because it's a PLDT wireless landline SIM with a FREE celfone noh!

The experience was fun! As usual I posed for the camera. I remember I even shouted to my mom "Mom, take my pic!" lol

Darn, I didn't win! Maybe next time ;p
