Home Improvement: Malaysian Wood Stool

July is the start of the sale season here in the Philippines. Last Sunday, July 3, 2011, we were in SM Megamall. We got there pretty early so we were able to park right away. Just a tip, if you are going to SM Megamall on a weekend, make sure that you go there by 10am or else you will have difficulty in finding a parking slot.

Every time we visit SM Megamall, we go to the Furniture Section. We have been eyeing the stools above for a few months. The last time SM Megamall was on sale, only one stool was left and it has some missing parts and a couple of minor scratches. It was selling at a discounted price. I just can't remember how much. Even if it is on sale, who would want to buy a stool with missing parts, right? We went back a couple of times after that and it turned out there was no stock available.

When we saw that the chairs were available last Sunday, we decided to buy 4 stools for our breakfast nook. Yes, it has a regular price tag but more importantly, it has complete parts. Once home, DH managed to assemble the chairs and put a glider in each legs.

There are so many nice things to say about this wooden stool. For one, this wooden stool's seat rotates 360 degrees. It has 2 different levels of foot rest. It can be pushed under the table to minimize clutter. I love the color. It looks sturdy yet lightweight.

We have been living in this house for more than five years and yet we still take our time to fill our home with furniture pieces. We are not always in a hurry in terms of buying because I would not want to look at a furniture that I bought just because we needed to fill the area with one. I want to buy furniture pieces, mostly wood, that can last a lifetime. And I see to it that the longer I look at the furniture, I can say that it's totally worth the wait.
