Spam Messages

I got two messages on my phone inbox today and both of them were spam messages. The first is this message from PBDionisio and the other one is from Banco de Oro. I wonder where the hell they do get our numbers. Who are selling it for a profit? And how the hell do I block them? Interestingly, I only posted this message out of the two because it register to a certain PBDionisio who is not on my inbox and the reply option on my phone is disabled.

from PBDionisio

note the "do not reply"

They can send message and I don't get to reply?

no reply option

How the hell can they do it? I hope Globe can do something about this damn messages!

Beware! Another Text Scam?

While on our way to the office, DH received a text from cell phone number 09162284066 which has the following message:

"Joanna! Tita Flor texted me. Meron daw siyang napanalunan na Calvin Klein shopping spree from Globe. Check mo nga if it's true! Text daw TREAT to 2346."

This message was received at 9:20 am. Sounds just like wrong text? You tell me. Just after reading my text that DH got in his cell phone, I got one too!

"Sheila! Si Mommy Jo nanalo ba naman ng P10, 000 Gap GC from Globe! Winner! Sabi nya, nag txt daw sya ng TREATS sa 2346. Marunong pala siya mag-text! mwahaha!"

This time the number came from 09151127746. At first, we were a bit hesitant to believe that it was a prank/scam because it sounds a little bit inviting and if you are a bit curious, you might text the number.

I called Globe to investigate in their 211 hotline. After several network busy, I was finally been able to get hold of Kaye and told her about the text incident. At first, I asked if what will happen if I text to 2346. She replied that I will be charged for the logos and ring tones that will be sent to me daily or weekly. "Whhhhhaaaat?" so what do those suckers who texted me will gain? I told her that maybe it's their company who sent those spam messages. At about this time when she told me about GTREATS which is a legal promo from globe and that GAP and CALVIN KLEIN are really included in their promo. I asked for her to report that I am complaining and that I don't even want a single spam message from their company. She sounded like she was sales talking me and telling me about all this lame promo of theirs. Well, i am not interested in their friggin' promo and told her just to report it or I'll blog about it hehe So, I'm now blogging about it.

Any same experience you want to share? Don't just shut up... BE HEARD or READ! Whatevs?!!

U.S. Iphone 3g

I went to the U.S. thinking I, uhmm, my DH could buy me an Iphone. A friend of mine got hers in the U.S. too. The one she got was the first version and I guess at that time Apple didn't think much about buying their phone and unlocking it making it not as exclusive as what they are thinking it should be.

So, for their new generation 3G phone, you can no longer buy the phone without a 2 year lock- up subscription and if you insist on cancelling the subscription, you could end up paying more for the numerous cancellation fees that apply. So much so that you end up paying more than save when you get your phone in the U.S.

I'm still wondering, though, how come Globe Handyphone and Apple are selling the phone here in the Philippines with a much higher phone fee. I still have to wait until April 2009 that is when my 2 year lock up expires and by then I could apply for new "perks" hopefully a lower priced Iphone. Geez... too much trouble for just one phone, don't you think?

iPhone rave... no more!

Globe announces last Saturday August 16 in Inquirer broadsheet that it is slashing its iPhone price even before they release it. What does this mean? They have taken reservations in advance, and maybe, just maybe, with their unbelievably price mark up and the economy now in the Philippines where soaring commodity prices hikes up, nobody as in NOT ONE have reserved lol People know that iPhone is sold much lower in the States, they are not dumb! Globe wants to cash in on iPhone craze but they have to fire the people who made the initial pricelist for the phone for coming up with unrealistic price mark up.

Here is a link for the NEW and IMPROVED ?! pricelist of iPhone with Globe:

Compared to the US pricelist of iPhone, which cost USD 199 and USD 299 for 8gb and 16gb respectively, those suckers at Globe are taking advantage of the vulnerability of the Filipino people- granted they have the money to buy it.

I, for one, would wait till the hooplah wpuld die down and for sure the other entrepreneur filipinos would sell 3G iPhone in Greenhills in no time *sheepish grin*

But for those of you who can't wait, are so excited and would want to splurge your money so you can get your hands on the not so NEW gadget, be still and have yourself invited tomorrow.

Boo-boos in Globe payment center in Greenhills

Have you ever have the chance to go to Globe's branch in Greenhill Shopping Center to pay your Globe Handyphone bill?
