Komrad in Il Terrazzo Quezon City

September 16, 2012

Komrad Mao's Hunan & Sichuan Kitchen
Il Terrazzo
Quezon City

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Mikki to dine in one of the newly opened restaurants in Il Terrazzo called Komrad Mao's Hunan & Sichuan Kitchen. I have not eaten in a Hunan or Sichuan restaurant so I was really excited to give it a try!

Male Crab 400-500 grams PhP 120 /100 grams

Red Crab Group owns and operates Komrad in Il Terrazzo. Yes, it's the same group that conceptualized Red Crab and Seafood Club, Claw Dadddy & Flying Pig.

Naturally, we have to order one of its specialties - crab! We got a humongous crab, it was meaty and overloaded with garlic. It was a true gastronomic delight!

New find: Golden Leaf Hong Kong Fine Dine Restaurant

My visit: July 9, 2011

Golden Leaf Hong Kong FIne Dine Restaurant

Roces Ave., Laging Handa,
Quezon City

My friend, Cherie, has been raving about a new restaurant in Quezon City called Golden Leaf that serves good food at inexpensive price. I got curious and decided to head down to this restaurant for my Saturday date night. Since we were there a little after 5 in the afternoon, we were able to park right away.  I think the parking space can accommodate 5 to 6 cars at any given time. I don't know if they offer valet service or if they have other parking spaces aside from the ones in front of the restaurant.

Prince beans with Chinese sausage PhP220

Similar to King Chef's French beans but with a twist- chorizo! The Chinese sausage (chorizo) is a bit salty. Try to eat it together with string beans and a spoonful of rice to balance the taste. At the later part of the meal, I was eating the chorizo by itself because I find it so addicting!

Chinese sausage is usually made out of pork and a bit of fat.

Zong Restaurant relaunched with a flagship store in The Fort

My event: June 9, 2011

Bonifacio Global City

I know I wrote that I am shying away from events, right? This is one of the last few invites that I have already said yes to so I went and I was not disappointed with the food presented to us! As usual, I hitched with Rowena and then we transferred to Richard's car. Carpooling saves gas, you know!

We were there a bit early and I gawked when I learned from Rowena that the food will not be served until 1:30pm. The event was situated on the second floor of the restaurant. The private function room  can accommodate approximately 20-30 people. Only a select few bloggers were invited and the rest were traditional media. One good thing was that the event started as scheduled.

 dumplings with black vinegar sauce

The picture above is steamed homemade dumpling in Chinese black vinegar. The splash of red and green color on top of the dish makes this irresistible for people like me who occasionally yearns for dumplings! Be sure to dip your dumplings in its sauce.
