Treat your Dad at Spiral this Sunday!

This weekend is Father's Day. I would like to be the first one to greet my dad a Happy Father's Day! With that said, this coming Sunday, June 16, why not treat your dad to a gastronomic feast at Spiral's famous Sunday brunch. He might be the lucky dad who will have a chance to spin in a Maserati Granturismo.

 my groovy dad

Dads who drop their business cards get the chance to experience the adrenaline rush of driving a blue Maserati Granturismo equipped with 460 horsepower, 4.7 liter engine. Maserati's First Class Ticket to Luxury is a 15 minute test drive around Mall of Asia.

Other luxurious prizes include one dad winning a sporting evening with seven friends at Snaps as well as gifts from Azzaro perfume, Kiehl's and Vietura Aesthetic Lifestyle Institute.

Angelica Panganiban for Pond's White Beauty Naturals

My event: June 14, 2011

Pond's White Beauty Naturals
Sunset Pavillion, Sofitel

I was invited to the launching of Pond's natural product line called Pond's White Beauty Naturals. That night, the latest endorser was also announced.

The theme of the night is fashionably eco- friendly. Unlike during the CLEAR shampoo event, this time around I complied and wore a dress with floral design.

My first buffet in Taipei was with Jogoya. I was accompanied by my expat friends. I was amazed with the variety of food displayed. The following year, another friend invited DH and I to another food fest and you guess it, it's in Jogoya once again! So year after year, every visit to Taipei is not complete without a trip to Jogoya.

eating in Jogoya always makes DH happy

People used to literally wait in line to be seated. And upon assigning a seat, you will then be given a notice that there is an alloted two hour period inside the buffet area. But recently, things have changed. We were not given the two hour time frame inside. After we paid, yes you pay first before getting inside, and handed three metal clips we were ushered right into our table. No long lines now. The three metal clips are used for placement of cook-as-you-order food like fish and steak.

Celebrating birthday at Sofitel

My visit: October 19, 2010

Spiral
Sofitel Philippine Plaza
CCP COmplex
Roxas Blvd.
Manila

It was a rainy day and I was wearing my Ondoy dress. I was crossing my fingers that what happened last year would not happen again. I had reserved a 7:30 pm table for 2. Rain kept pouring on our way to the venue. We were expecting heavy traffic but the trip lasted under one hour. Maybe many folks opted to stay at home yesterday... well and good for us ; )

Happy Birthday!!!

At 6 pm, we were seated comfortably in a couch by the window. Dinner buffet was not served until 6:30 pm.

Cookie's celebration at Spiral, Sofitel Philippine Plaza

Reservation was at 7 in the evening but we were there 20 minutes earlier. Fortunately, cars were moving fast that night. Stars are with the birthday boy lol

We had buffet that night. The waiters in Spiral are much more attentive and efficient than in any other 5 star hotels that I have been too. I love that they fill the water as soon as your glass is half full. Or fold the table napkin for you when you leave your table to get more food lol And of course, taking the used plate once your done with your food.

Sofitel Philippine Plaza

Sofitel Philippine Plaza
room 433

DH and I have the pleasure to stay in this 5 star hotel courtesy of my SIL. We made good use of the room by using it as the venue for my family's Pua Tiong Chiu or Mid-Autumn Mooncake Festival.

The room is big enough to occupy 10 persons with room to spare for you to walk around. As you enter, the huge king sized bed can be readily seen on your left. Two capiz lamp is found on both side of the bed. Four fluffy pillows and a tiny bolster are neatly arranged and are all covered in white linen. The bed is pristine white. A good sign of good things to come? read along~

king sized bed only in Sofitel Philippine Plaza

There is an individual thermostat provided for the airconditioner just in case you get a bit cold. A large console is placed opposite the bed and the tiny T.V. - 21 inch or NOT, if I'm not mistaken- is on top of it. The view from the bed of the television is crazy- too tiny to view it- Sofitel should have at least put on a 32 inch LCD t.v. Upon checking the channels, DH wonders why there were only a few and that no US channels present. It turns out you have to choose the SAT button instead of the TV button. The writing desk is adjacent to the console while a stainless floor lamp is beside the desk. Upon seeing the writing desk, DH quickly unpack his laptop to his dismay, a DSL connection costs PhP25/minute... duh~ Shouldn't it be free since you are paying top money for 5 star room and yet the DSL sucks because it charges per minute.
