One on One Winter Trend 2011 Makeover with The Body Shop

Seriously, if you are a girl, you can't have one too many makeovers! When The Body Shop recently invited me through SMS if I wanted to participate in their Christmas 2011 Blogger makeover session, how can I say no? It's yes all the way, baby!

with award winning MUA, Carissa "Issa" Rodriguez

So, last Saturday, DH- bless his heart that's why I love him- and I braved the traffic from Malabon City to SM Megamall Bldg. B for the makeover. Thanks to the power of PhP100, he was able to park somewhere near the entrance of the mall ; p

FOTD: Pink and Gray

It's Monday! I have been very busy today. I just announced the winner in my very first major, major birthday blowout giveaway! Woot! I am sure the winners are very excited! Congratulations! And I wish to thank everyone who joined and celebrated my birthday with me. I hope next year will be as exciting as this one ; )

Ok, back to my FOTD...

face of the day: pink and gray

I love the color combination of pink and gray on my eyes! It brings out the color of my contact lens. I use the Hello Kitty H&M eye palette that my sister gave to me from Hong Kong and Avon Kicked Up Coral on my lips.

Plains & Prints

OMG! I got so many rave comments about this dress that it needs a separate post haha This sponsored Plains & Prints dress was worn last week during Pond's The Unbeaten Challenge event.

channeling fashionista blogger  pose

I was running out of time that's why I wasn't able to take a decent photo of myself before the event. When I got home, I just have to be in front of DH's lens lol

I am so excited about this new feature post I am working on my blog. I have been thinking for such a long time to feature ordinary people and their fashion sense. I had actually done it before like my fashionista blog posts but right now I am upping the ante by adding their tote bag as well! Wouldn't it be nice to know what kikay girls these days are carrying with them as they explore the city?

May I present to you my DS as my guinea pig hehe

MakeUp for Asian Eyes

I am not a make up guru nor a make up artist but I know how to put make up on my own. I learned putting on make up from my numerous salon trip. I paid quite a few times for a professional make up artist to prettify my face during graduation, senior prom, debut to becoming a part of the wedding entourage but I see to it that I learn a couple of tips here and there. It's like a free make up tutorial haha

open eye make up

Having a monolid eyes sucks if you don't know how to enhance your God given feature. I learned how to love my almond eyes! You, too, can do your make up on your own. All it takes is practice, practice and more practice!

L'Oreal Paris Base Magique

When Mikki Galang of L'Oreal Philippines handed me Base Magique, he whispered that it's a very nice product.

L'Oreal Base Magique PhP945

OMG! He wasn't kidding! It wasn't just a nice product, it really delivers what it promises- L'Oreal Base Magique smooths skin surface!

Glitter Eyeliner Starlight from The Body Shop

Fancy the sparkle in my eyes? The secret is my new Glitter eye liner, Starlight from The Body Shop! I bought it last week. I can't have enough of it since I tried it on during TBS' Christmas Party 2010!

Tajimaya Charcoal Grill

My visit: October 30, 2010

Tajimaya Charcoal Grill
2nd floor SM Mall of Asia
JW Diokno Blvd.,
Brgy. 76, Pasay City

The waitress kept insisting their Wagyu beef on us. It's their specialty blah blah blah so much so that on the third try, DH had to cut her off and told her we were not interested so don't push it. We have no time to savor the meat because we have a fashion show to attend to in less than an hour.

2 person set PhP1200

We ordered a set for 2 persons instead which consists of 4 kinds of meat plus tiger prawns and squid. All were good except for one kind which was a bit hard to chew.

San Marino Tuna Paella

I got a sampler pack of San Marino tuna paella from The Philippine Fashion Week a few days ago. The expiration is not until 2013 and I didn't plan to eat it but I got hungry waiting for my parents to pick me up.

San Marino Tuna Paella

Even with the easy open can, I had a hard time pulling out the entire top lid. That explains why it's half open.

Eye makeup Of The Day: Pop Hearts by Saledo

So, I bought this Pop Hearts by Saledo Milano- Italy in our local Duty Free. I tried all four colors on my eyes. And below is the result of my experiment lol

Philippine Fashion Week presents Ipanema Spring Summer 2011

My event: October 28, 2010

Ipanema presents Resort Wear Collection
Function Rooms 2 & 3
Philippine Fashion Week 2011
SMX Convention Center
Mall of Asia Complex
Pasay City

Last year, all I got was a sign up sheet for Philippine Fashion Week. Sadly, I was not able to attend to any one of the events. Friends of mine would know just how directionless I am. Night Event + Far = No intention of attending alone.

But this year it's different, I got a personal invite from ELRO, exclusive distributor of Ipanema and DH was willing to drive coming from the office. I have to let you in on a secret, DH has to be the one behind the lens so every photos appearing on this post was from his camera lens.

We were there a few minutes before 6pm. And the line was already quite long. I was given a bleacher seat and had doubt how DH can take a good photo from that spot. DH even muttered "You are not famous that's why you get that seat." Of course, he was kidding or was he not? I don't know. Good thing, I saw Tetcha who was on her way to the long queue along with her sister. She escorted me to another booth were Cel Mabalot was stationed. She handed a green circle sticker which I sticked on my blouse. Green Circle Stickers= First Row Seats!!!

Celebrating birthday at Sofitel

My visit: October 19, 2010

Spiral
Sofitel Philippine Plaza
CCP COmplex
Roxas Blvd.
Manila

It was a rainy day and I was wearing my Ondoy dress. I was crossing my fingers that what happened last year would not happen again. I had reserved a 7:30 pm table for 2. Rain kept pouring on our way to the venue. We were expecting heavy traffic but the trip lasted under one hour. Maybe many folks opted to stay at home yesterday... well and good for us ; )

Happy Birthday!!!

At 6 pm, we were seated comfortably in a couch by the window. Dinner buffet was not served until 6:30 pm.

How To: Create Winged Eye MakeUp

If you happen to see me on events, I am sure you can recognize me because I often sport winged eyes.

What is winged eye?

Using an eyeliner, usually black for fiercer look, to flick the ends of your upper lash lines. Making your eyes look more asian.
