Almost every weekend, you can spot me and my family inside a McDonald's store. There are several branches near my place so we get to go on these branches alternately. Anyway, I just want to share with you my favorite McDonald's meal...

Sunday Affair at Cafe Breton

Cafe Breton
Scout De Guia cor. Tomas Morato Ave.,
Quezon City
3746334

These past few weeks, I have been sickly therefore I was not in the mood to go even to the nearest mall, Robinsons Magnolia ; (

To cheer me up, my family and I went to a happy place, Cafe Breton. For two consecutive Sundays, we were there in the afternoon having our favorite crepe and coffee!

Original Sin PhP 260

During our first visit, I ordered Original Sin - stewed apples, caramel ice cream, caramel syrup, walnuts and whipped cream. Yes, it's truly a sinful dessert!

On our second visit, I saw Normandie under Dessert Crepes. It is Original Sin minus walnuts, it cost PhP 232 only. Other variety of stewed apple crepes are Adam & Eve (PhP 148), Eden (PhP155) and Lost Paradise (PhP185).

Adam & Eve - stewed apples with cinnamon & vanilla ice cream
Eden - stewed apples with cinnamon & fresh cream, topped with whipped cream
Lost Paradise - stewed apples with cinnamon, vanilla ice cream, raisins  marinated in rum

Family Bonding in Bag of Beans Tagaytay

My visit: October 31, 2011

Bag of Beans
General Emilio Aguinaldo Highway
Mendez Crossing
West, Tagaytay City
046- 4134356

I have been to Bag of Beans on numerous occasions. Clearly, it seems that whenever my family goes to Tagaytay, a trip to this quaint coffee shop & bakery is a must. Last October 31 is no different, my family and relatives all met up there for an afternoon snack after visiting the grave of my grandparents.

Blueberry pancake PhP195

I only took photos of the food and drinks that we have ordered. Shown above was a blueberry pancake ordered by DH. He loves blueberries. It comes with 2 slices of orange. See the melted butter on top? It's hot, hot, hot!

Afternoon Tea at Bizu

My visit: March 9, 2011

Bizu Patisserie
The Promenade
Greenhills Shopping Center
San Juan

March 9 is my dad's birthday. But until recently we don't celebrate it on March 9 anymore. He wanted to celebrate his birthday using the Chinese calendar which we all know falls on a different day when viewed on the western calendar. Anyway, my family have been talking and raving about how Bizu serves good food especially their lamb. I know it's a patisserie, a shop where French pastries and cakes are sold, but they have extended their menu and are now offering real good food aside from cakes. Since we went there in the afternoon, we decided to have our own private tea time!

Perusing the menu, I noticed that the price is not cheap. I guess diners have to take into consideration the ambiance this restaurant has to offer.

For starters, we ordered a personal salad that can be shared by 2 persons. There is also a family sized salad which can be shared by 4 persons for PhP445.

Waldorf salad personal PhP225

The presentation of the salad is quite nice. The salad includes mesclun, grilled chicken slices, apple, mango, orange and grapes, toasted walnuts topped with shaved parmesan. Nothing much to rave about but I like that it has a mix of veggies and fruits. I guess the difference lies in the honey orange yoghurt dressing that they use which was kind of citrusy and sweet at the same time.
