New Find: Cafeteria Verde The Better Option

January 18, 2012

C'Verde by Big Chill
Ground Floor, Promenade
Greenhills Shopping Center
San Juan

I'm a vegetarian... not! But once in a while I want to eat something healthy like vegetables ; p I still can't give up red meat... argh! I don't know why, hmm, maybe because it tastes deliciously good.

Anyway, I discovered Cafeteria Verde by Big Chill when I watched a movie alone for the first time in Promenade. I liked what I had and so I ask my parents to join me a few weeks ago to dine vegetarian style ; p

Layered Beancurd with Rice PhP 99

My mom ordered Layered Beancurd with Rice. It's a tofu and veggie rice topping. The teriyaki sauce is the key ingredient to this dish. I liked it so much that mom and I ended up sharing a bowl hahaha It was just supposed to be a tikim because I have a separate order ; p

To know more what else we ordered, read after the break...

One More Try A Movie Review

I seldom watch Tagalog movies. I find most story lines mababaw and some even copy cats of Western movies. But when I read the gist of the movie One More Try, I thought the plot was different. So, I watched the 12:10 pm screening of the movie alone for the first time in Promenade Theater along with a dozen or so Senior Citizens and their companions.

One More Try starring Angelica Panganiban, Dindong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angel Locsin

At first, I was shock at the exorbitant amount I paid for a Tagalog movie. But after watching it, I felt it was definitely worth every single cent of the price I paid - PhP 225.25. This is what I tweeted after watching it ---> "kulang ang tissue paper na dala ko" ; p It was definitely a tearjerker movie!

Spoiler Alert and movie trailer after the break...

Dove Presents Unspeakably Yours The Underarm Monologues

October 10, 2012

Unspeakably Yours
The Underarm Monologues
Teatrino, Greenhills Promenade
San Juan City

Last night, I watched the second run of Unspeakably Yours: The Underarm Monologues. It is presented by Dove Deodorant in cooperation with Upstart Productions. Before the show began, the screen flashed this question "If your underarms could talk, what would they say to you?" Hmmm, it got me thinking... If my underarms could speak to me, this is what it might tell me, "Thank you for taking good care of me by not plucking or shaving. Thank you for always making me feel fresh and smelling good" hahaha

(l-r) Czarina De Leon Mercado (Brand Manager of Unilever Dove Philippines), Cindy Melocoton-Manlapaz (Unilever Philippines Marketing Manager for Deodorants and Oral Care),
Cathy Azanza-Dy (writer/director)
together with theater actresses Jenny Jamor,  Angela Padilla and Caisa Borromeo

As if to burst my bubble, Issa Litton, the hostess of the night, got down on stage and asked me if I discuss or talk about underarms with my girl friends, I replied, "No" ; p At that moment, I really can't remember but now that I am writing about this entry, well, maybe just this one time when my friend was complaining about her dark underarms due to her last 2 pregnancies. But that was said to me in confidence and we didn't discuss it in front of our other friends so I guess the answer I gave to Issa's question still applies.

For a glimpse of the show, continue after the break....

Tilapia in Banana Leaf Asian Cafe Promenade, Greenhills

My visit: July 19, 2011

Banana Leaf
L3 Lower Level, Promenade
Greenhills, San Juan

It has been awhile since I ate in Banana Leaf. I remembered before when DH and I were still dating, we ate one whole crab in Banana Leaf. We can't do that anymore. DH has since been allergic to crabs. Don't ask me why, ok?!

deep fried tilapia with sambal sauce PhP238

When I saw the restaurant in Promenade, Greenhills, memories of good food came flashing back! I was with my parents during my visit. The restaurant was empty save for a lone guest when we came in. The server was quick to usher us to our table and handed us the menu.

We ordered tilapia with sambal. This order came out last but we ate it with gusto. The sambal taste sweet and much like a shrimp paste. The fish meat is filleted and cut into rectangular shapes. The meat is then placed on top of the fish.

Sambal is a chili based sauce made vegetable or fruits and spices.

Afternoon Tea at Bizu

My visit: March 9, 2011

Bizu Patisserie
The Promenade
Greenhills Shopping Center
San Juan

March 9 is my dad's birthday. But until recently we don't celebrate it on March 9 anymore. He wanted to celebrate his birthday using the Chinese calendar which we all know falls on a different day when viewed on the western calendar. Anyway, my family have been talking and raving about how Bizu serves good food especially their lamb. I know it's a patisserie, a shop where French pastries and cakes are sold, but they have extended their menu and are now offering real good food aside from cakes. Since we went there in the afternoon, we decided to have our own private tea time!

Perusing the menu, I noticed that the price is not cheap. I guess diners have to take into consideration the ambiance this restaurant has to offer.

For starters, we ordered a personal salad that can be shared by 2 persons. There is also a family sized salad which can be shared by 4 persons for PhP445.

Waldorf salad personal PhP225

The presentation of the salad is quite nice. The salad includes mesclun, grilled chicken slices, apple, mango, orange and grapes, toasted walnuts topped with shaved parmesan. Nothing much to rave about but I like that it has a mix of veggies and fruits. I guess the difference lies in the honey orange yoghurt dressing that they use which was kind of citrusy and sweet at the same time.

Happy Lemon

My visit: December 6, 2010

Promenade Mall
Greenhills, San Juan

Are you tired of reading about my Serenitea posts? Well, I have good news for you! I have discovered yet another tea place called Happy Lemon, a brand originated from Hong Kong!

With over a hundred outlets in China and Hong Kong, Happy Lemon offers milk tea, rock salt cheese, lemon series, mousse spin, cocoa & coffee and fresh tea.

Matcha with Adzuki Bean 0% sweetness level (large) PhP100; Roasted Milk Tea with Adzuki Bean and Pudding 50% sweetness level (large) PhP100

My parents shared a drink under mousse spin called Matcha with Adzuki Bean. I had a taste and I liked it! My mom experienced a brain freeze after a few sips hehe But she liked it nonetheless. The Adzuki Bean rocks!

Roasted Milk Tea with Adzuki Bean and Pudding was my order. My drink has lots of pudding, more than Serenitea's portion which I love! The combination of Adzuki Bean and pudding was delicious! What I don't like is my tea base which is roasted and taste toasted haha It rhymes!

I would still got to Serenitea for my milk tea fix hehe But I will definitely go back for Happy Lemon's Rock Salt Cheese which I haven't tried and their Mousse Spin!

I am having a cough week!

Yes, you read it right! A cough week is what I am having!

 Honey Propolis Throat Spray PhP100

I bought this in Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay but it was made by Ilog Maria- a honeybee farm also found in Tagaytay. I had no voice when I started spraying this inside my mouth but I regained my voice the very next day.

Although, I am still not well, I am happy that I got my voice back!
