Discover Kinosaki: Kani Suki (Winter Crab) Meal

December 3, 2013

Shinonomesou
Kani Suki menu (Dinner)

After visiting five onsen or public baths in one afternoon, we went back to Shinonomesou. We were surprised to see what was laid out on the table - our Kani Suki dinner. It does not look that much on our table but believe me, even DH gave up eating the last few pieces. It was way too much for two persons. Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed every bit of the giant winter crab. It was a feast to say the least.

what is gluttony?

It was a complete meal with vegetables, rice and of course, the winter crab cooked in so many ways, tempura included! Oh, some crab parts were to be eaten sashimi style ; p

Sarangani Bay-The Winter Wonderland of Asia

Did you know that once the fish are out of water, bacteria growth and decomposition creeps in due to increase in body temperature?

Sarangani Bay-the best bangus

Well, that is not going to happen inside the Sarangani Bay complex because Alson Aquaculture Corp. (AAC) has the largest & full-integrated farm-to-market Bangus processing operation in the country. While others are mere processors of bangus (those who do not own processing plants and those who buy bangus at wet markets), AAC has its own fish hatchery, grow-out ponds, sea cages & processing plant all within the complex. This means that from hatching of eggs to fry to growing them out to ponds to harvesting and sorting to processing of full grown fish, you can be assured of end-to-end quality control from Sarangani Bay. It also means that they are a much more reliable supplier of premium quality fish.

Day 4

Korea
031-320-5000

After nature tripping, skiing & apple wine making, we went to Korea's biggest playground, Everland Resort. I am so excited even if I despised thrill rides! I am like a kid in wonderland!

Welcome to Everland!

Our tour guide did not follow the sequence written in our itinerary. Instead of going to Everland on the fifth day, we went on the fourth day. We didn't mind as long as we visit every place written in our itinerary ; p

Korea Chronicle: Winter Ski

My visit: December 24, 2011

Day 2

High1 Ski Resort
Korea

After breakfast, our tour group wasted no time and went skiing. I must admit seeing the slope kind of scared me. Little did I know that first timers are not even allowed in the beginner's slope. You have to have an instructor with you. Our 72 year old guide taught us how to put on the ski but we were on our own after that.

Athena slope is for Beginner & Intermediate level

I am glad that DH knew the basics of skiing. He was the one who taught me how to position my legs and bend my knees. I don't know what I would do without him ; p

The photo below was taken behind the window inside our hotel- High1 Resort Korea. Even then I was already in awe at the grandeur of mountain scenery. It was taken around 6pm. The snow partially covered the mountain. I am so excited because this is my first ever white Christmas!!!

serene view

I can't wait to see what's in store for us the next day. Our guide gave us the next day's weather forecast- snowy! It's what we wanted because it is perfect for skiing! Woo hoo!

While waiting for our guide to check us in, DH and I took the following photos...
