Wholesome Goodness at GrandMomma's Kitchen

February 20, 2013

GrandMomma's Kitchen
G/F Il Terrazzo Bldg.,
Tomas Morato, Quezon City

A few weeks ago, I tried out the newest restaurant in Il Terrazzo called GrandMomma's Kitchen. The restaurant has a homey ambiance that will make you want to order everything on the menu ; )

Strawberry Banana French Toast PhP 165

I ordered a Strawberry Banana French Toast under the All Day Breakfast section. At PhP 165, it was worth it. As you can see in the photo above, the restaurant did not scrimp on its ingredients. There were generous slices of bananas and strawberries as well. Oh, and I love the whipped cream on top ; )

To know what else I ordered, read after the break....

Last Sunday, my family and I went to Yoogane in Il Terrazzo after spending an afternoon window shopping in Trinoma ; p Alright, you caught me lying hahaha I bought 2 blouses. Yes, only two! I am not a shopaholic lol

Korean BBQ exhaust nozzle with flexible duct system in Yoogane

Yoogane originated in Korea. Too bad, DH and I were not able to eat there when we visited Seoul last December 2011 that's why I could not make a comparison in terms of ambiance & quality of food.

Komrad in Il Terrazzo Quezon City

September 16, 2012

Komrad Mao's Hunan & Sichuan Kitchen
Il Terrazzo
Quezon City

A few weeks ago, I was invited by Mikki to dine in one of the newly opened restaurants in Il Terrazzo called Komrad Mao's Hunan & Sichuan Kitchen. I have not eaten in a Hunan or Sichuan restaurant so I was really excited to give it a try!

Male Crab 400-500 grams PhP 120 /100 grams

Red Crab Group owns and operates Komrad in Il Terrazzo. Yes, it's the same group that conceptualized Red Crab and Seafood Club, Claw Dadddy & Flying Pig.

Naturally, we have to order one of its specialties - crab! We got a humongous crab, it was meaty and overloaded with garlic. It was a true gastronomic delight!

The Works Bistro in Il Terrazzo

The Works Bistro

Quezon City

When a college friend and I had an impromptu meet-up, we decided to set it over lunch in The Works Bistro. Parking is a huge problem in Tomas Morato area that's why I like to set up lunch meetings in Il Terrazzo. The outer parking is free of charge while inner and basement parking cost only PhP35.

Chef's Work (to share) PhP175

Chef's Work had a lot of fresh greens topped with tomatoes, slices of beef and parmesan cheese. The dressing was not enough though. The serving was big, we could not even finish the entire thing! In fact, we were not able to taste the bread on the side.

The Real Thing Diner

Cats, Gevi and I see each other once in every few months. After weeks of trying to set a meeting, we finally agreed to have girl bonding moment over dinner on a Friday night. We decided to try a fairly new restaurant located in Il Terrazzo, Quezon City called The Real Thing. As its name suggests, this restaurant's interior is inspired by Coke! Red and white is the color scheme for the entire place.

spicy Sarsi wings PhP199

This dish unanimously got all three of our votes. Deliciously juicy and saucy! My friends were actually thinking of ordering another one but I reminded them that we still have other dishes to try and taste. I think an order has 6 chicken wings, so all three of us had a fair share lol

145˚ Fahrenheit Prime Steaks and Seafoods

After a lack luster dimsum snack at King Bee Chinese Food, we met with a couple of friends to have dinner at 145˚ Fahrenheit Prime Steaks and Seafoods. It's a good thing though that we have eaten merienda because the order took so long to arrive at our table. Ok, if 45 minutes isn't long enough, I take it back.

It has been awhile since AC, GE and I have seen each other. Sure, AC and I are often each other's house guest and GE and I see to it that we have lunch over the holidays to catch up. It's about time that the three of us have the opportunity to get together just like the old times!

We quickly found a table upon entering as only a few tables were occupied.

Christmas Party 2009 #4 USTe barkada!

Since I don't know much about driving directions, napilitan silang dalawa na i meet ako sa Il Terrazzo. BR even came from as far as Las Pinas just to meet up with us. She travelled and braved a two hour traffic... atta gurl!

JJ, me and BR

JJ suggested Banapple Pies & Cheesecakes and although I don't like the restaurant that much, I agreed. It's the company of these two that I missed the most anyway.

A friend of ours came back from New Zealand for a month long vacation. Since they left the Philippines two years ago, Il Terrazzo is a pretty new place for us to take them to. With their kids in tow, we, together with my cousin's family decided to have dinner at this dessert place called Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes. But we totally forgot about dessert after we ate their main course haha

The place was packed so we waited for around 30 minutes just to get a table inside. They also have few tables outside for smoking patrons. All nine of us, six adults and three kids, were cramped in two small round tables. Eating could be a feat but we manage.

These are what we have ordered:

 banapple's house salad PhP85

House salad- Mixed greens with corn, cucumber with bell pepper bits. Crumbled banana chips, honey peanuts and shredded mozzarella. drizzled with balsamic- caesar dressing.

I liked their house salad especially the dressing. The balsamic- caesar combination I'd like to try and mixed on my own haha The veggies were fresh and crispy.
