Last Monday, after eating Korean Barbecue over at my house, my family and I went to Robinsons Magnolia for an afternoon coffee. Since Starbucks is not yet open, we picked The French Baker.

Ok, we had a light snack too ; p We shared an order of  clubhouse sandwich. A set includes 4 triangle-shaped sandwiches, barbecued potato chips and a vegetable side salad. I can't get enough of these crunchy potato chips, I think I ate almost half of it ; p The side salad dressing is light and appealing to my taste.

Chow Fun: Coffee Beef Hotpot & More!

August 10, 2012

Chow Fun
103 J.Abad Santos St.,
Little Baguio, San Juan

Right after my Tinette & Co. salon experience, my parents and I went straight to Chow Fun for merienda. By the time we got there, it was already close to 6pm. But as luck would have it, we were able to park right in front of the restaurant. I don't know if they have any other parking space provided for other diners but if you are familiar with the former location of Mann Hann, that's where Chow Fun is located.

 Coffee Beef hotpot PhP275

Since my parents said it's still early for dinner, we only ordered 2 main dishes- Coffee Beef Hotpot & Mapo Tofu and one order of Lechon Macau Buns. We were the only ones dining that might explain why the orders came in succession but I was glad the kitchen didn't made me wait for so long, plus one point!

Anyway, for the price of Coffee Beef hotpot, I think the serving is quite small. I don't mind paying for more so long as you can make this dish larger ; p This dish is best paired with rice because the flavor is too strong / concentrated. Do not get me wrong, I love this dish and I would recommend it you, my dear readers ; p If your concern is the beef, it was tender and not chewy, just the way I like it!

Bread & Bean Cafe in San Juan

April 11, 2012

Bread and Bean Cafe Bakery Resto
Unit 2 Citiplace Building
8001 J. Abad Santos,
San Juan

I am happy to share the restaurant that I frequently visit whenever I crave for Tocilog-Bread and Bean Cafe. Aside from Red Ribbon, it is one of the few restaurants that serves delectable tocino. It is located right across Serenitea in J. Abad Santos in San Juan. You would not miss the maroon and cream signage and numerous parking slots in front of the restaurant.

pork tocino PhP160

An order of tocilog consists of meaty pork tocino, 2 sunny side up eggs and garlic rice. You can choose from either coffee or iced tea for drinks. Atchara or pickled green papaya together with vinegar are perfect partners for pork tocino.

If you are not fond of pork, there is an alternative choice-chicken tocino which is just as good.

Merienda at Chef Laudico's BFAST

My visit: October 14, 2011

Chef Laudico's BFAST
Space #3 Restaurants @ Ayala Triangle Gardens,
Ayala Ttriangle Garden
Ayala Avenue, Makati City

I have read about Chef Laudico's BFAST from a blog but I rarely go to Makati so I never had a chance to try the restaurant. My one and only chance was the day of my sister's graduation. I was with my parents and I was keen on sampling the menu of the restaurant.

 Angus Tapa PhP168

I suppose it was a slow day because only one other table was occupied when we entered at around 3 in the afternoon.  It was humid outside and even inside the restaurant despite the fact that one air con was running. The management's solution was to open the other air conditioner but even that didn't help. We were still sweating and had to get out of the restaurant immediately after our meal.

On with the food... I ordered an Angus tapa. It was served on a red plastic plate. A third of the beef was fat. It was chewy. The egg was cooked well though.

The Stock Market in Bonifacio High Street

My visit: April 22, 2011

The Stock Market
B1/B3 Bonifacio High Street
Taguig City
8566300 to 01

I first saw this restaurant when I was still joining fun run. Hmmm, I can't tell you how long ago it was haha But I can tell you this, I am back running, on the thread mill this time!

It was Good Friday, after checking out at EDSA Shangri-la Hotel, my family and I went to Bonifacio High Street expecting the place to be deserted. To our surprise, many people didn't leave Manila at all.

Most of the restaurants are open. The Stock Market is one of them. We roamed around the area and found out that not all shops were open. As we walked along the rows and rows of restaurants and shops, we saw Bonifacio High Street's version of Station of the Cross. I saw people literally carrying the cross. I was just wasn't in the mood to take a photo of it because I am starving.

 Stock Market Harvest Salad PhP325

I find the serving a bit small for PhP325. Slices of pineapple are on one side and cut veggies with bananas, grapes, apples and nuts on the other side. Pepper and vinaigrette are on top of the salad.
