BYS Australia's Complete Cosmetics is now in Manila!

February 5, 2013

BYS Complete Cosmetics
Straight Up Bar
Seda Hotel
30th st. cor. 11th Ave.,
Bonifacio Global City

Over a month ago, I was invited to the launching of BYS's Spring/Summer 2013 Forecast. BYS is the most extensive Australian beauty brand available in Australia, UK, Japan and now in the Philippines.

When I arrived at the venue, I saw several makeup sets on top of a table. Guests were encouraged to try out BYS' products, most of which were still sealed ; )

FOTD: FairyDrops Candy Bar BB Cream + ProStyle Fuwarie

I love Japanese BB Cream as compared to Korean BB Cream because it offers full coverage and well, it suits my skin type. When I went to Korea in 2011, I bought a lot of BB Creams from different brands but I was not able to review any because some offer only light to medium coverage while I find the others, too cakey.

Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream  in Light Ochre 35 g PhP 1,550 (JPY 2,730)

For quite some time now, I have been sticking with Kanebo Kate Mineral BB Gel Cream because I have not found any other brand that suits my skin tone. In fact, I even bought another tube when I went to Japan early this year.

Anyway, when Cheryl of Beautybox Corp. sent me a squeezable tube of Fairydrops Candy Bar BB Cream the other day, I can't wait to give it a try. Maybe this time, I will have an alternative to my favorite brand. Did I tell you that it's made in Japan?

Gift Guide: Shiseido Camellia Compact

A few weeks ago, Shiseido sent over a package containing the most coveted item from their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection - the Limited Edition Camellia Compact. Instead of just reviewing it, I decided to include it as one of the items on Gift Guide because this compact is perfect for women with exquisite taste in makeup.

Shiseido Camellia Compact 6.5 g (0.22 OZ.) PhP 1998

I know many women will love it as much as I do because the powder has a smooth, high quality texture, and its ingredients give it a velvety, dewy feeling during application.

Elixir 7.9 by Yves Rocher now in Trinoma!

Last Thursday, I attended a shopping event in Trinoma Mall. Yes, you read that right, it's an event that involves shopping, my forte ; ) Of course, being a shopaholic that I am, I could not say no ; p It was hosted by the no. 1 skin care brand, no.1 cosmetic brand and no. 1 beauty institute brand in France, Yves Rocher. Whew, that's a lot of no.1 in one sentence ; p

Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 30ml PhP 1,190

I must admit, I have not heard of Yves Rocher until that day but I wanted to know about the brand so I did some research. The brand was founded in 1959 by Monsieur Yves Rocher in the village of La Gacilly, France. He invented the first plant-based cosmetic products and he was regarded as France's pioneer of botanical beauty. For more than 50 years, the brand continues to offer women an array of botanical beauty products at an affordable price.

I will discuss more about Elixir 7.9 after the break...

Kanebo KATE Mineral: BB Gel Cream + Loose Foundation

Makeup is one reason why I love to go to Taipei. I always end up hoarding buying from KATE by Kanebo. Just recently, I bought KATE Mineral BB Gel Cream and KATE Mineral Loose Foundation twin pack in Watson's located near GT Apartment.

While perusing aisle after aisle of makeup, I found this twin pack stashed in a corner. Alongside with it is an individually sold KATE Mineral BB Gel Cream which costs NT$390. Technically, I got the KATE Mineral Loose Foundation for free. Yey!

Color My Brows #2 Light Brown by Etude House

My dilemma started last year when I decided to dye my hair. My hair has never been dyed before so I went to a professional salon, Hair Asia to have it colored in red. In less than 3 months, the color has faded. I figured I can't afford to shell out PhP2, 500 every single time so I bought Etude House's Bubble Hair Color in Wine Red. It's inexpensive and I got the color that I desired in less than an hour's wait. My hair color became lighter with every application of dye. The eyebrow pencil that I used did not match that of my new hair color... ack! My continuous search for a matching color for my eyebrows remained futile until I went to Korea.

While in Korea, I had this crazy idea to dye my hair in The Face Shop's Orange Brown. The difference between my hair color and my eyebrow color is more noticeable. That is a very big problem for a person like me who wants everything in terno. I know, I should have just dyed my eyebrows, right?! Then my problem would have been solved lol
