Discover Osaka: Random Eats at Namba + Itinerary

Day 7

January 3, 2013

Namba (Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade, Amerikamura and Den Den Town)
Osaka, Japan

Finally, I am down to the last installment of my Japan vacation entry. Thank you for being patient with me.

On our last full day in Osaka, we spent it in one of Osaka's major city center, Minami (Namba). It is the city's most famous entertainment district with numerous shopping and dining choices.

We went around Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade, Amerikamura and Den Den Town. It was fun taking photos of Japanese pop culture and also trying out most of the food stalls that we passed by ; p

Warning photo overload after the break...

Operating Hours: 10am to 8pm

I can't get enough of Kobe. Aside from Kobe Beef, there are a lot of things to do, places to visit and food to try. There are a lot of things we crossed out in my itinerary due to bad weather. I will definitely be back during summer time.

 Mitsui Outlet Park

From Tarumi Station, we walked towards Mitsui Outlet Park. It was a long walk. I was tired and at the same time excited to see what's in store for us ; )

Are you ready? Read more after the break...

Shin-Osaka Station: Juicer Bar & Gourmet Street (Ajino Kouji)

Day 2

December 29, 2012

Shin-Osaka Station

After touring Kyoto, we boarded the train (JR Kyoto Line for Osaka/Sannomiya) back to Shin-Osaka Station. It's a 30-minute train ride. It was already 8pm when we finally reached our destination and we were hungry. Right after we exit, we discovered that there is an underground street full of restaurants. It is aptly called Gourmet Street.

After scouring through the restaurants one by one, we went back to a restaurant that we found at the back. It does not have an English name so I will just post a photo of the restaurant after the break.

Discover Kyoto: Nishiki Market, Takoyaki & Kyoto Station

Day 2

Night

December 29, 2012

Kyoto (DIY Tour)

I did not know that touring Kyoto in one day is not enough especially if you are doing everything on your own (without a tour package, that is). There are just too many things to see and places to visit. I did not even think that I would end up writing three entries about Kyoto ; p Heck, Nishiki Market alone deserves one whole entry.

When you take a peek into my itinerary, visiting Nara was scheduled on the same day since the distance from Kyoto to Nara is just short. We ended up not visiting Nara altogether, but we are definitely going to visit it when we go back to Japan.

Nishiki Market

Nishiki Market is the "Kitchen of Kyoto" lined with over 100 shops selling different kinds of ingredients. It is teh best place to get a taste of the flavor of Kyoto!

Our last stop in Kyoto is Nishiki Market. We spent an hour oohing and aahing at the amazing food ingredients plus many others that the merchants sell.

To find out more, you can read after the break. It will be loaded with lots of photos, I promise...

I have so much photos taken during my short vacation in Hong Kong that I have not yet shared with you, my dear readers! Initially I thought I don't have much to show but looking at the photos inside my Hong Kong folder, there were far too many!

DH and I

This photo was taken inside a bus on the day that I got my LV Tivoli GM. After buying my loot we went back to Wifi Hotel to unbox it and then went to Horizon Plaza in the afternoon.

Horizon Plaza is a warehouse converted into an outlet center with 28 floors full of designer clothes. You wouldn't miss a building where a Ferrari showroom at the ground floor is located, would you? ; )

Japanese Restaurant:Hana

My visit: March 2009

Hana
Little Tokyo, Makati

Finally, a place whereTakoyaki balls are made by a Japanese. A must try! Othe offerings are pancake and Iced dessert. Beware of the extra milk they call for the iced dessert. It is actually just a condensed milk and you can do away with it. Saves you PhP10 lol
