Last Saturday, I was invited to Lock & Lock's Blogger Day. I know that it will have a cooking demo as part of its program but what I didn't know is that it's another shopping event! Remember, I have told you about Yves Rocher shopping event two weeks ago, right? If you have not read about it, shame on you, please visit here. That, my dear readers, served as my warm up because during Lock & Lock's event, I totally rocked it ; p I got everything I needed plus more!

I am a loyal user of Lock & Lock. When the brand came out with Boroseal Microwavable Glass container a few years ago, I was one of the many others who trooped to its stand alone store in Shangri-la Mall and bought several containers to be used as our office baonan (lunch box). Really, it is a no brainer to switch from plastic into glass. I even changed our food cover, you can view it here

I love the blue colored theme of the store... very chic! I am biased because my favorite color is blue lol The store layout is spacious. You can navigate from one section to another easily. From afar, you can immediately see the different hip brands that the store carries.

Jewelmer Pearl Care Kit

Late last year, I got a text from Jewelmer that I have a pearl care kit waiting for me in their Eastwood branch. At first, I thought it was dubious. But then I was assured that I don't have to buy anything and that it's just a simple token to their customers. So, I went and got my kit! No hassle at all.

I was only able to use it this week to clean all my pearls ; ) It was so easy to use.

Weekend Organic Market in Eastwood Mall

My visit: March 27, 2011

Green Summer Passion presents
Weekend Organic Market
Eastwod Mall Open Park

I noticed that more and more supermarkets are selling organic food these days. What baffles me is how do we really know that the goods are really organically produced? Good thing I was introduced to an organization called Organic Certification Center of the Philippines (OCCP) last Sunday.

The OCCP is the only local certifying body in the country that ensures organic farming procedures are strictly met by a producer before they accept any product as certified organic. It is accredited by Department of Agriculture and is recognized by international organic partners as CERES (Certification of Environmental Standards) and ICEA (Ethical and Environmental Certification Institute).

organic vegetables= expensive?

Well, if you think about it, when you buy organic produce, you value your health and in return you avoid getting sick. It is like an insurance on hand. Buying and eating organic food is cheaper than having to treat an ailment or condition in the future.

Reasons to go organic:
  • It tastes better
  • It helps protect future generations
  • It has higher levels of nutrients
  • The farming methods prevent soil erosion and build healthy soils
  • Organic farming helps protect water quality
  • It is free of artificial additives
  • Chemical residues are missing or at a very low levels
  • Organic food production uses less energy than conventional food production
  • Certified organic means Genetically Modified free
  • Organic farming practices , maintain and enhance seed, crop and ecological diversity
  • Supports small farmers
  • It has low nitrate level
  • It is not irradiated

Ramen Bar

My event: August 25, 2010

Ramen Bar
Ground Floor,
New Eastwood Mall
Eastwood City, Libis
Quezon City
5709457

When my friends and I meet and ate at The Old Vine by Chef's Quarter on the first week of August, Ramen Bar was still under construction just beside O'sonho Portuguese restaurant. I was surprised when I received an email from the co-owner, Charles Paw, to try the newest kid in Eastwood City. They opened over a week ago. 2 Japanese and a Filipino- Chinese owned this funky ramen bar with a Japanese chef, Masa Ishikawa, manning the kitchen that's why you can be sure that you are having an authentic Japanese ramen ; p

O'sonho owner and dreamer

I have been to Macau but have not tried Portuguese food. So, I was really excited when I got an invite to dine at O'sonho Portuguese Fusion. As far as I know,  it's the only Portuguese restaurant in the Metro.

New Find: MoMo Cafe

My visit: May 3, 2010

MoMo Cafe
G/F Space A-124
Eastwood Mall
Libis, Quezon City

DH and I usually scout for restaurants we have not tried before. We chanced upon MoMo Cafe when we went to Eastwood City to watch Ironman 2.

We quickly got a table by the window. The place was full yet the service rendered by the staff were efficient. I requested for an iced cold glass of water for DH and no ice in mine, when the waiter returned with our drink he knew and served the iced cold water in DH's side and no ice on my side. As we finished eating our salad, I thought of requesting for a change of plate. But the waiter must have read my mind and he was already changing our plates, of course, after asking if we were done with our salad. These little request are sometimes overlooked by other restaurants or other times totally neglect their diners.

Crisostomo

On the 24th of December, DH and I usually go out on a date for lunch. Noche Buena is usually spent in our home. More often than not, we would dine somewhere in Tagaytay or have buffet lunch in one of the hotels in the metro. But since I did not make any restaurant reservations this year and we wanted to watch Avatar the movie, we ended up having a quick lunch in one of the restaurants in Eastwood Mall.

Our first choice was Cyma, you can never go wrong with this restaurant. The problem was we were there a bit early and so most of their supplies were not yet delivered for the day.

Crisostomo and Avatar

DH and I arrived at the Eastwood Mall around 10:30 am. We bought 2 movie tickets for Ultra Cinema 7, the cost of each ticket is PhP400. Then went to Crisostomo for lunch. We came back to the cinema just in time for the 12nn showing.

We had a sweet date today! Merry Christmas ; )

Ultra 7 cinema at the Eastwood Mall

My visit: September 13, 2009

Ultra 7 Cinema
Eastwood Mall
Libis, Quezon City

It's the newest cinema in town! For PhP400 per pax, a movie goer can have as many bucket of popcorn he/ she wants and as many drinks to quench your thirst.

bucket full of popcorn

Cheese, Barbecue and plain popcorn are served by request. No matter how fast we ate we could not finish an entire bucket lol We took home the rest. You just have to raise our hand to ask for a bottled water, soft drink or iced tea. Both popcorn and drinks are bottomless.

plush twin seater

This seat is the best, we can recline our seat and put our leg up too bad our movie, Up, is a short one. You get your money's worth if you are watching a longer film.

DH and his cheese popcorn

I like the cheese flavored popcorn instead of the barbecue flavor. The barbecue lacks flavor in it.

me with my feet up

When you are all full from the treats, toilets are located inside the cinema so you can easily slide back to your seat and avoid missing much of the movie.

With the upcoming summer vacation, C and I enrolled in Bikram Yoga Eastwood studio to tone our "sexy" bodies hehe Because it was cheaper here at PhP700 unlimited practice in a week, we tried it out for a change.

We plan to do it everyday from Monday to Friday and we successfully did it. For the first two days, we got free parking- the first day, guard was not manning the post and the second day, thanks to my other friend, CKL's visitor parking space. FYI, CKL lives in the same building as where the studio is located. In the other days, we paid PhP30 for the parking fee.
