Anyway, this is my blog so... ; p Today, I want to share with you my own version of Pancit Canton

 Pancit Canton ala MrsMartinez

Last Sunday, I went to SM Hypermarket and bought some ingredients for pancit canton. Since I hired a helper who is very eager in the kitchen, I was not able to cook much for my family. I really miss cooking so I made it a point to cook for lunch ; )

I became a chef for a night at the launching of McCormick Korean Fried Chicken. The event was held in one of the cooking schools at The Fort called The Cookery Place.

McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Soy Garlic

To be honest, this is the first time that I came to know McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Recipe Mix. This event is a good opportunity for me because I want to try something new for a change. Instead of just plain fried chicken, I can now cook 4 varieties of Korean fried chicken. One more thing, little did I know that we were going to cook our own dinner that night. Exciting, yeah?

During the event, all the bloggers were provided with a black apron embossed with McCormick logo. Of course, I want to share with you how to cook your very own Korean fried chicken in 4 easy step. With McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Recipe Mix, it's so easy! Please read after the break....

Spending Happy Time With BPI

Since we met way back in college, Cats, Gevi and I became very good friends. We are so close that we treat each other like sisters… ok, more like we’re triplets hahaha We used to dress alike when we were still in school. By the way, we still do that from time to time ; p

(left to right) Gevi, me and Cats

After college, we still kept in touch and spent some precious time together. Every now and then, we travel together. Cats and I have traveled to Taiwan and Singapore while Gevi and I recently bonded in Boracay.

I Heart Charm Essentials Angled Kabuki Buffer Brush + Other Makeup Brush

Newsflash! Charm Essential is now selling Charm Travel Pro Sonia Makeup Brush Set.

I seldom see Sophie Uy, the blogger behind http://beautynomics.com. But when I see her, she would usually hand over her newest beauty product. So, when I saw her during Shiseido's Makeup Workshop last September, she gave me not just one but two new brushes from her Charm Essentials Collection.

Charm logo - buy only original Charm Makeup Brushes

It was Sophie who introduced me to makeup brushes. Before that, I used my fingers to blend makeup (eyeshadow, bb cream) on my face. I still used my fingers sometimes - old habits die hard ; p But there are several Charm brushes that became essential to my makeup kit - Charm Angled Kabuki Buffer Brush, Powder Brush and Crease Blending Brush are just some of them. The last two brushes that I have mentioned are part of the Vegan Makeup Brush Collection.

You can view the makeup brushes after the break. I have also included Charm's newest baby - Retractable Powder Brush. It's handy, versatile and a perfect travel companion!

Tips On How To Organize Your Bedroom Closet

As you have read in my previous posts, I stayed home these past couple of days because I was not feeling well. Even when I am sick, I always wanted to do something so I turned to a long overdue task - organizing my bedroom closet. You see, I try to reorganize my stuff at least once every quarter. What about you?

Tip #1: Choose the type of hanger you want to use

I could not stand to see clutter inside our house. I wanted everything in place. A priest who revisited our home several years after he blessed it commented that my house looks just as he remembered it, like it's still new. Fact is, my home is already close to 10 years old ; p

Anyway, going back to my organizational skills, I once helped a friend who now lives in New Zealand segregate and organize all their clothes. Yes, including the clothes of her husband and kid ; p Thinking back, I should have charged her for my skill lol

Tip #1: Choose the type of hanger you want to use

There are several choices out there, all you need to do is go to a home store and spot which one suits your closet. I opted for wood. To know which one is DH's and which one is mine, I bought 2 colors - light and dark.

A Better than Ever Greenwich Christmas with John Lloyd Cruz!

My event: November 23, 2011

Greenwich
4th Floor, Atrium
SM Megamall

Christmas started early this year with "Better Than Ever Greenwich Christmas". It is a media event that launched The Greenwich Overloaded Pizza Blowout- a nationwide pizza sampling which was Greenwich early Christmas treat for pizza lovers in the Philippines. There were over 10, 000 slices of Greenwich Ultimate Hawaiian Overload and the Greenwich Special Overload pizzas for FREE! This early Christmas treat gave customers a chance to taste why Greenwich is better than ever!

 Greenwich's Ultimate Hawaiian Overload

Meanwhile, people who attended the media event were able to taste Greenwich's Ultimate Hawaiian Overload- my favorite! Overloaded with 2x more hawaiian toppings freshly- made just for you. Taking the words from a recent Greenwich commercial, it's sooooo cheesy!

Jewelmer Pearl Care Kit

Late last year, I got a text from Jewelmer that I have a pearl care kit waiting for me in their Eastwood branch. At first, I thought it was dubious. But then I was assured that I don't have to buy anything and that it's just a simple token to their customers. So, I went and got my kit! No hassle at all.

I was only able to use it this week to clean all my pearls ; ) It was so easy to use.

Pearl Care Kit includes:
  • 12 pearl sachets
  • a luxury microfiber pearl polishing cloth

How To: Transfer Land Title in the Philippines

The entire content of this entry has been transferred in my new blog, xoxo MrsMartinez visit the link here.

Date Started: April 4, 2010
Date Ended: June  29, 2010

This is a personal account of how I transferred a land title in my name. I hope it can serve as a guideline so you will not be at loss in the whole process.

I started my date when I had the DEED OF ABSOLUTE SALE notarized. The notarization fee is usually 0.1% of the amount stated in the Deed of absolute Sale.

I proceeded the next day to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to get the check list and assessment of Capital Gains and Documentary Stamp. I had to make an amended return 22 days after because the Revenue District Officer miscalculated the zonal value. Zonal value is higher when you are transferring a unit in a subdivision or a unit in a condominium.

How To: water your Gynura Procumbens plant

I didn't know that the leaves of Gynura Procumbens could get this big! You all read about how this leaf has helped a lot of people suffering from ulcer, diabetes among other diseases. Well if you have not, read this. We have so many of these plant in our garden and more from my DSIL. We got this batch in the photos from her and boy was I shocked to see how the leaves grew this big! I used my MacBook so that you can visualize how big the leaves are.

gynura procumbens

Anyway, the secret lies in the water used to water the plant. Do not throw the water used to wash your uncooked rice down the drain instead use it to water your Gynura Procumbens ; ) We are now using the water technique to the Gynura Procumbens that we have here in our garden. I hope that we can achieve the size in our garden. *crossing fingers*

Nail Polish Lovin': Jordana Nail Polish and L.A. Colors Art Deco

I bought the Jordana nail polish and L. A. Colors at a PhP99 store at the 2nd floor Shoppesville, Greenhills Shopping Center. I only have time to paint it on my toenails yesterday. I stayed at home the whole day- thanks to the color coding scheme my ingenious government came up with to lessen the traffic.  I think the traffic got worse, if you ask me, the rich bought more cars lol

I think I passed doing my first nail art *pats myself on the back*
