Blogger Event: BUM Equipment Collar- Ups Collection

My event: June 22, 2010

BUM Equipment Blogger's Night
Columbus Hall 42nd Flr.
Discovery Suites
25 ADB Ave. Ortigas Center, Pasig City

It was a surprise for me to see BUM Equipment hosting the fashion show, the invite didn't state the brand name of the clothing company.
BUM Equipment is getting edgier and trendier with their latest collections called Collar- Ups and Goth.
DH is a metrosexual/fashionista. He is always in the know. And I though DH was just being his wacky self when I saw him with his collar up in one of our dates. I even kidded him that he looked Japanese and he seemed please with my comment lol I was not able to take a picture though ; (

Blogger Event: O'sonho Portuguese Fusion

My event: June 21, 2010

O'sonho Portuguese Fusion
1880 New Eastwood Mall
Quezon City
401768

Have you ever dreamed of something and then turn it into reality? Well, that's exactly what the owners, husband and wife tandem, did! For them, O'sonho is a dream come true!

O'sonho owner and dreamer

I have been to Macau but have not tried Portuguese food. So, I was really excited when I got an invite to dine at O'sonho Portuguese Fusion. As far as I know,  it's the only Portuguese restaurant in the Metro.

Proud Pinay: Jewelmer Pearl bracelet

And yet another proud Pinay moment! I was one of the invited bloggers for Pearl Talk which I will be blogging soon. As a token, we were given limited edition Jewelmer bracelet which is currently on sale.

Jewelmer is a local brand for cultured South Sea pearls. If you have been reading my blog, you know how fascinated I am with pearls and with this proudly Filipino owned company.

Random Friday

Call me crazy but I bought additional Welcome plant for our living room. Apple was in the mood to join the photo shoot that day lol

Home Improvement: 3D Blue Star Stand Fan and Marubishi Velocity Fan

DH and I were on the look out for new electric fans to replace both non working fans inside our room. Finally, we saw two that we both liked in Anson's Emporium Corp. found on the 3rd floor, Landmark, Trinoma Mall.

How To: water your Gynura Procumbens plant

I didn't know that the leaves of Gynura Procumbens could get this big! You all read about how this leaf has helped a lot of people suffering from ulcer, diabetes among other diseases. Well if you have not, read this. We have so many of these plant in our garden and more from my DSIL. We got this batch in the photos from her and boy was I shocked to see how the leaves grew this big! I used my MacBook so that you can visualize how big the leaves are.

gynura procumbens

Anyway, the secret lies in the water used to water the plant. Do not throw the water used to wash your uncooked rice down the drain instead use it to water your Gynura Procumbens ; ) We are now using the water technique to the Gynura Procumbens that we have here in our garden. I hope that we can achieve the size in our garden. *crossing fingers*

Father's Day Weekend at Chelsea Market & Cafe

My visit: June 20, 2010

Chelsea Market & Cafe
The Podium
18 ADB Ave.,
Ortigas Center,
Mandaluyong City

It was a leaky Father's day! We went there to celebrate Father's Day as insisted by my DB. I actually suggested Angel's Kitchen in Greenhills which for me has a more competitive price range.

Why did I say leaky? Because we were seated below the air conditioning system. And my dad was directly below the leaky system. The staff should have move or rearrange their table set up away from the darn leak. It was raining in and out of the restaurant lol Poor dad had to squeeze himself nearer to my mom's space to avoid getting wet.

Greek salad PhP350

Everybody was not impressed with this salad although it was served in a huge platter something is still lacking. The sauce is not that impressive. Nothing can beat the kesong puti salad I ordered in Cafe Mary Grace

Wattah Wattah 2010 San Juan Fiesta

Every year on the 24th of June, San Juan celebrates its feast day by throwing water on bystanders and everybody else. Video shown here was taken this morning along N. Domingo, San Juan. My car is behind the jeepney- a local transportation, being "attacked"  hosed by residents of San Juan. I pity those passengers riding that jeepney!

How was your wet and wild San Juan day?

Selecta Coffee Crumble

Just imagine, I was not able to eat my dinner the other night- long story. DH popped inside our room carrying a banana and a tub of Selecta Ice Cream Coffee Crumble!

800ml of pure Selecta ice cream

Of Romulo Cafe and Peking Garden

My DSIL, who is based abroad, stayed with us for her 3 week vacation. I kept on bugging DH to take her out to some fancy restaurant. That's why we ended up eating in Romulo Cafe.

DSIL and MIL

In my own words, Romulo Cafe is a Filipino restaurant with outrageous menu price. Well, you are paying for the ambiance.

Spotted: MrsMartinez in Philippine Daily Inquirer Lifestyle section

I have been so busy this week that I have not been updating stuff here in my blog! Too many events if you ask me. I had dinner in O'sonho Portuguese restaurant last Monday, had a slimming center experience at Yamada Miyura and a B.U.M. Equipment fashion show event yesterday! Whew! I will blog about these experiences for sure... let's see, if I have the TIME!  Someone freakin' send me a watch lol My DH is going to kill me! Looks like I will not be able to spend dinner with him this entire week. My calendar is full but who am I to complain lol

thanks to Alex Van Hagen for the photo

I can't pass this post though. I saw my picture, taken during the Chowking launch taken ages ago, this morning at the lifestyle section of Philippine Daily Inquirer under Maurice Arcache's Without Batting An Eyelash. I, of course took, some picture to share with you, dear readers. I know Alex Van Hagen was the culprit haha So, shout out to my Dutch friend Alex, "Hey, How are you? Hope to see you again in one of the events!!"

Nail Polish Lovin': Jordana Nail Polish and L.A. Colors Art Deco

I bought the Jordana nail polish and L. A. Colors at a PhP99 store at the 2nd floor Shoppesville, Greenhills Shopping Center. I only have time to paint it on my toenails yesterday. I stayed at home the whole day- thanks to the color coding scheme my ingenious government came up with to lessen the traffic.  I think the traffic got worse, if you ask me, the rich bought more cars lol

I think I passed doing my first nail art *pats myself on the back*

Shuji Kida BANGS!

And so, after 30 minutes or so at Shuji Kida Hair Salon, I went home with an even bangs. The junior hair stylist, Orvelle, kept on explaining as to why my bangs was cut unevenly last Sunday. I just nodded and agreed and he kept going on and on. Maybe he thought that I am mad- I'm not! As long as he can fix my hair/bangs.

I'll post a decent picture soon!

Shuji Kida Hair Salon

My visit: June 13, 2010

Shuji Kida Hair Salon
G/F City Center Bldg.,
338 Ortigas Ave.,
Greenhills, San Juan
7269928

I had the longest hair cut last Sunday at Shuji Kida in Greenhills. My friend AC and I finally settled for Shuji Kida after learning that Tony and Jackey's PhP300 haircut promo is now back to PhP500 and Louis Philip Kee was not in his shop that day plus they charge PhP800 haircut done by an apprentice.

AC had a good experience the last time she got her Shuji Kida haircut. Too bad her stylist now charged PhP600. We both settled for a PhP400 haircut by an apprentice. If you want the 29 year old Japanese guy to cut your hair prepare to shell out  PhP2, 500. I am not ready to part my PhP2, 500 haha

Gourdo's Oven Mitt And Pot Holder

Kennedy's Home Collection neoprene PhP320

I cook a lot these days. I am in search for the best pot holder/oven mitt there is available in the market. I passed by Gourdo's store a few weeks ago and bought this oven mitt/pot holder set for PhP320. It costs a lot compared to those found in SM Home World. I just shrugged and paid it with my eyes close. I was thinking that it would benefit me. My hands get too hot from cooking and I can't wash my hands afterwards so I needed an oven mitt to protect my hand from the heat when cooking.

Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt

strawberry mini PhP80

My mom's reaction "Hindi ito yogurt! Lasang ice cream eh" (This is not a yogurt! It tasted like ice cream.) And with that comment, I was not able to take a photo of her Cappucino flavored frozen yogurt. You guessed it right, her cup was almost half empty after taking pictures of my strawberry frozen yogurt lol

Shinjuku Ramen House

My visit: June 4, 2010

Shinjuku Ramen House
7853 Makati Ave.,
Poblacion, Makati City

Shinjuku acts like a magnet to my DH. Whenever we would watch a movie in Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, this restaurant would be his choice for our early dinner. I would silently hope that we could try other restaurant than this but with luck not in my way, we would almost always end up here. I find it bordering to being a run- down restaurant. And to tell you frankly, not the cleanest Japanese restaurant I've been to. But the food is, nonetheless, authentic and of huge serving.

Tokyo POSH Nijikai Launch at The Rockwell Club

Blogger Event: June 2, 2010

Tokyo POSH Nijikai Launch
Hair Talk
Blue Shades, Rockwell Club

I first met Denise Aquino when I attended MEGA Magazine's launching at Rustan's last March 2010 where I get to try Tokyo POSH's clip on hair extension

With Tokyo P.O.S.H.'s recent transfer from a Supercenter to a Power Plant Mall, it is but right to have a kick off party! Although I was not expecting it to be too humid that night, the event was held outdoor, I was glad that it didn't rain. I think Denise have the same scenario in mind too. A portion was covered but guests could still hang out and mingle under the stars too!

Figaro All- Day Breakfast, Figaro a la carte and cakes!

Blogger Event:: June 2, 2010

Figaro
G/F Hanston Bldg.
Emerald Ave.,
Ortigas Center

The invitation I got from NomNom Club was timely because I just encountered a bad experience the day before in Figaro Promenade. I aired my concern to the management and they promised me that they will look into it. So, hopefully they could do something about it.

It was an impromptu invite and my mom, who was a loyal patron for more than 5 years, was with me that day. We were able to taste Figaro's All Day Breakfast by Chef Karl Marxist Tan. All breakfast set are served with 8 oz. brewed coffee.
