Happy Cotton Buds

I am happy with my current cotton buds. First, it's paper stem. The cotton is securely spun around the tip so it won't slip off.  Don't you just hate it when the cotton easily detaches from the tip? Some cotton buds   have thin cotton tips making you use twice as much cotton buds.

Happy Cotton Buds paper stem PhP18.10

I use it to clean my belly button and ears. I also use it for removing my eye make up together with Ponds Cold Cream Deep Cleanser. This product is available in Unimart, Greenhills Shopping Center.

Lastly, it's proudly made in the Philippines!

MOS Burger Singapore

My visit: November 17, 2010

Mos Burger
Bugis Junction
Singapore

Before leaving for Singapore's Night Safari on our first day, Jo and I grab a bite at Mos Burger. Mos stands for Mountain, Ocean and Sun. Originated in Japan, I first saw this brand in Taipei several years back. I got excited when I saw it in Singapore. It brings back the good food memories of Taiwan.

unagi rice burger S$3.70

Imagine a fist, that's how tiny my order of unagi rice burger, the price... S$3.70! But I love unagi and I heart Mos hehe And in spite of eating a lot in Wong Kok, I still got hungry haha

It's a good thing I ate a merienda, the rice made me feel full throughout the night.  We had our dinner a little late that night.

The past few posts were just from our first day, stay tuned for Day 2!

SeriAsia Ganoderma Body Moisturizer

Commercial muna, you all read about the Vanity Fair that I have attended, right? Well, I got a producat called SeriAsia. I am not familiar with the brand but I am willing to try the product. Good thing, I got a body moisturizer as a sample. I can't live without lotions that why I told you about hoarding a lot from the TBS sale a few days ago tee hee

SeriAsia Ganoderma Body Moisturizer 120ml PhP892

As I am typing this, I found out from its website that a small 120ml bottle of SeriAsia Ganoderma Body Moisturizer costs PhP892. Whoa! That's a lot of money!

Here is what I like about the product, it's enriched with Vitamin E and no synthetic fragrances nor color are used in making this product. It penetrates quickly but I need more amount because the consistency is more watery than creamy. The strong scent of Bergamot can turn you off if you are not accustomed to it.  I have been using it for almost three weeks, so far, I have no skin irritations from it.

pearl milk tea

Even when I am in Singapore, pearl milk tea is such a craze! I think Rockery is one of the big players in bubble tea category in Singapore because I often see it in malls and sometimes on the side walk. I just have to try their milk tea! I forgot how much it cost.

Home Improvement: toothpaste squeezer

toothpaste squeezer

I want to share with you guys what I have in my bathroom. I bought my toothpaste squeezer which also double as my toothpaste holder from Rustan's Department Store. I forgot how much I got it for but I remember I got it a few weeks before DH and I were set to wed. And after so many years, it's still functional hehe

It squeezes out toothpaste and tends to make your sink area tidy. Plus, in its upright position, it is space saving! You just have to turn the knob, and the toothpaste will come out. Just don't over turn it!

I wonder if Rustan's still sells this kind of toothpaste squeezer/ holder?

Singapore Day 1
PAL flight PR503 7am
round trip airfare $189.20

My friend, AC and I have agreed to be picked up by their car around 4am. But I overslept, yes, I overslept and my freaking alarm didn't work. And don't ask me why, ok? When I got her text that she, and her family were on their way, I panicked. She lives just a block away from my home. I replied by texting her I'll be down in 5 minutes. That's how fast I washed my face, brushed my teeth and changed clothes. Yes, shower is not on the list! *shmelly*

Jo, AC and I on board flight PR503

We arrived in Singapore after 3 hours. AC's relatives picked us up from the airport. We left our bag at the hotel lobby because of the 2pm check in time.

I love The Body Shop! That's true! I love their products especially their Vitamin C Skin Boost. I recently bought 2 make up brushes and a glitter eye liner in time for the holiday season! I'll post about my loot soon! Perhaps when DH is not lurking?! ;p

My visit: November 18, 2010

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao
Unit 117- 121 Virra Mall
Greenhills Shopping Center
5706910   5706912

Since its opening, people were lining non stop for this restaurant. After two months from its opening date, I was finally able to try this restaurant with my parents.

There were a few vacant tables when we went in. An over eager waiter approached our table and started to talk us into ordering almost everything in multiple of two. Whoa! I told him jokingly "Tatlo lang kami, ano kami... baboy?" ; p And he continued on to tell me that the people on the other table ordered quite a lot. I countered that we can only eat so much.

Here's what we have ordered:

sauteed chicken with cashew nuts in spicy sauce (served with pancake) PhP288

The order is smaller than what it looks like in the photo but was good enough for all three of us. It's not overly spicy. It has just the right kick in it. I wrap mine with the pancake included. The pancakes are much like the ones Chinese restaurants serve with a Peking duck order.

Glass Pendant

dragon fly glass pendant in green and black

I went to Chinatown district in Singapore on my last day of vacation. And I shop till I drop lol This is also the reason behind my horrific experience on the plane.

Universal Studios Singapore keychain

It was during my second day in Singapore when I was able to visit Universal Studios. Now I don't really plan on going to Universal Studios because I am not fond of thrill seeking rides... think Revenge of the Mummy. Plus, I have already been to Universal Studios Hollywood. But DH insisted that I have to go with my friends. On the bright side, I did shop for a Betty Boop gray shirt and 2 keychains lol And had so much fun, lining up to have my picture taken with Universal Studios mascots! S$66 was not such a waste at all lol

Betty Boop in soft enamel keychain S$ 7.90

I remember during elementary days, Betty Boop became such a huge hit among the girls in my school. My mom got me a Betty Boop metal lunch box from Hong Kong. I have to take a picture of it because I know I still have it somewhere hehe

I bought this Betty Boop keychain in Silver Screen Collectibles! There are so many designs to choose from and I settled for this. AC and I have exactly the same keychain.

Home Improvement: IKEA CHOSIGT grater with container

317 Alexandra Road
Singapore

A trip abroad would not be complete without a visit to IKEA. I don't go there to shop for furniture. I go their to look for some quirky stuff to add to my home improvement.

CHOSIGT grater with container S$4.90

And I fell in love at first sight with this CHOSIGT grater with container not because of its blue color which is my favorite but because it has 2 graters. One with smaller hole and one with larger hole. It is the size of a leche flan container. It has a lid container where you can store your grated cheese or whatever it is that you grated inside for future use. Plus the lid keeps it fresh and ready for next use.

Bee Cheng Hiang

1359 Serangoon Road
Singapore

On my first day in Singapore, I saw Bee Cheng Hiang store located just a few minutes walk from my hotel. But it was only on my third and last day that I was able to buy homemade bak kwa.

sliced pork barbecue meat S$27.60/600 gram

I bought other stuff like their chicken and pork sausages (S$13.20/ 2 pieces per pack) plus their famous sliced pork barbecue.

Kiehl's Lip Balm SPF 15

Kiehl's lip balm SPF 15 PhP475

I was introduced to Kiehl's lip balm by my friend, RAM. She gave me a tube because she bought a lot during her visit in the US. Getting Kiehl's now is not a feat anymore. You can buy it in Greenbelt 5, Makati 7289561.

Philippine Daily Inquirer

Seven years ago, I was not really interested in reading newspaper. But all that changed when I got married. You see, it has been a morning routine for DH to read the newspaper during breakfast. Philippine Daily Inquirer has been a part of our marriage haha Nowadays, the day isn't complete without reading the news on paper.

Philippine Daily Inquirer

Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) has so many sections. I especially love Friday's issue because it's full of info from entertainment to beauty and lifestyle! Oh, and Sudoku is a plus!

Belgian Mint Truffines

I know I have been depriving you of food post for the longest time. I can't help that beauty products keep coming my way. Not that I am complaining hehe So, I dedicate this post to all those foodie  readers out there.  I hope this post can satisfy your hunger pangs.

mint truffines 60gm S$4.60

I have to share with you about my good find in Singapore, it's Belgian famous chocolates Mint Truffines! I bought this in The Cocoa Trees inside the Duty Free Singapore Changi Airport

OKA b. Shoes That Love You

2 Orchard Turn #B3-11
ION Orchard Singapore
65098552

Even after two days of Night Safari, Universal Studios and Singapore Flyer, I was not happy until our last day which was shopping day! Shopping is synonymous to Orchard Road. And ff we go from my hotel, it's only S$4.60 or if you get on a freaking know nothing driver, you get a S$8.90 bill for the taxi.

My friends and I rode Comfort Transportation SHA7114J. We didn't exactly feel the comfort in riding his taxi cab because the driver kept on making the wrong turn. We even passed by the highway, so we have to pay for ERP which I think is their version of toll fee. The driver gave me a receipt to prove that he didn't deceive us.

OKA b. Marion Platinum with Clear Crystals S$39.95; US$30

You can't buy a thing in Orchard Road lol Everything seems expensive!

I was lucky, I went in the basement part of the mall to go and find a toilet. The first thing I saw was the word Sale 50% off on the store of OKA b. (OKA bee) I often see the brand in upscale shoe stores here in the Philippines but I was not prepared to shell out money, not if its on sale.

The Spa Rockwell

Makati City

November 17 12am was my flight back to Manila from Singapore. OMG, I can't even begin how to tell you what happened to me on the plane but I am very happy to say that I had a relaxing time at The Spa.

So, I was late. I seldom get late during events but you have to give me break. I got home at 5am and was up and about by 8am. I was not able to catch some zzz's on the plane, you know! Plus, OK, I will tell you what happened on the plane. First, I had a splitting headache, then I took 2 paracetamol on board and then I puked. How's that for a good vacation ending, huh? It's a wise decision to attend this intimate gathering because I was able to enjoy some pampering. I deserved it lol

NaRaYa... Ribbon Bags!

I got this dainty looking bag inside one of the loot bags I took home during the Vanity Vanity event. I used the hand bag once and got praises for it. I knew that I have seen the brand somewhere but couldn't seem to remember it hehe It turned out NaRaYa has a boutique in SM North EDSA lol

NaRaYa gold checkered hand bag and a make up pouch to go with it

When I went to Singapore, I brought the make up kit with me. The space was just right for my compact powder, eyeliner, small bottle of contact lens solution, a small tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush with its end sticking out lol

Olay Philippines Grand Swap

Olay Age Defying Bar Grand Swap
Activity Area
Robinsons Galleria

Alright, so before I went to Singapore for a 3 day getaway, I attended Olay Philippines Grand Swap event last Novemeber 12, 2010. It's a swapping of any empty beauty bar soap box to Olay Age Defying bar for FREE! Be sure to visit their page in FaceBook for the next schedule of swapping!

Olay ambassador, Angel Aquino

Swapping was so easy. I applaud the event organizers for having smooth sailing event. I went there as early as 11 am and brought 3 empty boxes of non- P&G beauty soap. One each for me and my parents.  I asked permission if I can take pictures for my blog. I was then asked if I wanted to stay for the rest of the event. Well, of course, I wanted to! Olay people were so kind and generous!

FOTD: Pink Funk

I took this photo of me while DH and I were on our way to work. DH kept telling me how crazy I am for taking shots in every angle possible lol

new hair cut

Oh, I totally forgot that I am now back to my old sleek straight hair. I had Tony of Tony and Jackey Tomas Morato cut the last 2 inches of curl. Totally digging my hair, right now! But not digging Tony's snooty attitude hah! For a PhP500 haircut, I think I deserve a more bearing attitude than this one has showed me. After all, he is not the only good hairstylist in the metro.

Lu Restaurant in Rockwell

Lu Restaurant
G/F Joya Bldg.,
Joya Drive,
Rockwell, Makati City
4033991

I passed by Lu restaurant when my family and I had dessert in The Ice Cream Bar last month. I secretly wanted to try it out with DH if ever we are going to be in that part of Makati. I don't know if the food is good though. As luck would have it, I got invited to an intimate merienda at LU during the Cream Silk Women Empowerment campaign

with the owner of Lu, Luis Terry

While waiting for the program to start, Luis was table hopping.  He strike a short conversation and surprisingly he spoke Tagalog fluently. He was entertaining guests and he obliged to have his picture taken with me and my fellow gorgeous bloggers.

Cream Silk empowering Filipinas in a major major way!

Empowering Filipinas the Cream Silk Way
Lu Restaurant
Joya, Rockwell Center
Makati

When I got an invite from Cream Silk and saw Venus Raj's face on it, I got extremely excited. But when I looked at the date, it's on a Thursday! I dread that day because of the number coding and Makati has no window for cars with plate ending in 7 or 8. So, my excitement quickly went down the drain or so I thought. Any how, if there's a will, there's certainly a way!

This is my first time to drive alone to Makati. I have been to Rockwell numerous times but it never occured to me to memorize the road leading to it ; p But with my sheer determination, I was able to find my way to Rockwell and meet Ms Venus Raj!

with Ms Universe 2010 Venus Raj

I gave myself a pat on the back when I arrived at the venue on time! Whew! Meeting Ms. Universe 2010, Venus Raj is an event I would not miss!  I guess there's an empowered woman in me : p

Bundaberg Sarsaparilla

Honestly, I have no inkling whatsoever regarding what Bundaberg sarsaparilla is until I saw Chicken Charlie selling it. I didn't purchase right then but the brand stuck in my head and then one day, I was in a grocery store and saw a bottle of Bundaberg Sarsaparilla. It is quite expensive than the usual carbonated drink in can.

making my own float

To end my curiosity, I grabbed a bottle. I tried it the other day. I could not fathom the taste. I probably tasted more carbonated drink in that bottle than in my whole life. Ok, not really in my whole life but you get the drift? Like drinking a Perrier, I didn't like the taste of this even after putting a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Christmas Tree 2010

Hello! I have an early morning flight to catch and I am leaving you with this Christmas post. You see, I only get excited on two occasions- my birthday and Christmas season! I am in my most happiest state during my birthday and my real friends could attest to that!

But Christmas brings back so many happy memories in my parents' house. So, I am excited as well on this occasion. Would you believe my siblings and I still hang our stockings on the eve of Christmas Day? Right, you would say it's silly, but it has become our family tradition of some sort.

Avon Ultra Color Rich Mega Impact lipstick: Kicked Up Coral

Using words such as Ultra, Color Rich, Mega Impact in one sentence can be too much, no? These are the descriptions of Avon's new line of lipstick!

Kicked Up Coral C401 by Avon PhP499

When Rowena got her loot- set of Avon Ultra Color Rich Mega Impact lipsticks, she read the colors one by one. When she mentioned the color Coral, my eyes brightened. I love to own an orange lipstick. She generously gave it to me saying she has pink undertone and the color orange does not suit her.

Braun Buffel : Glacier 216 Black

My mom recently got this Braun Buffel 1887 Germany wallet from Rustan's Shangri-la Mall. She was constantly in search for sturdy wallet. If only you can see how thick her wallet can be from all those membership cards she carries with her hehe

Braun Buffel

We have been in and out of Braun Buffel stores several times in the past. I am quite impressed with the quality of their craftsmanship. It has classic style wallets in soft cowhide leather, bags and other leather goods.

Clean and Clear Philippines BFF 8 Date

My event: November 6, 2010

BFF 8 Date
TGI Friday's
SM MOA

Turn an ice cream cup into a hat, pay PhP50 pesos for a rainbow colored kiddie manicure, ask a mister to let our Mini MEs ride the ferris wheel and make goofy faces, these were just some of the things Rowena and I did just to have a chance in winning one 16gb iPad each.

We didn't win but nonetheless, I would like to share with you the 8 official picture entries + 1 to the scrapbook making contest of Clean & Clear Philippines.

The White Hat

After our lunch at Friday's, the foodies in us wanted to have a dessert! White Hat was our choice for frozen yogurt dessert!

Warner's Unslippables Contour Underwire #1301

What do you expect?! It's not me in the picture, alright! Anyway, I have been using up all my GCs so I am shopping haha

One of my good finds at Crossings, Shangri- la Mall is a brand called Warner's. I was in search for itch- free tagless comfort much like the ones I have right now from Maidenform but at a fraction of the cost. And of course, non- slip straps would not hurt too!

Warners Unslippables Smooth Look Underwire Bra 1301 PhP1550

Warner's Unslippables 1301 Underwire have non itch characteristic because its tagless and has no slip straps. It fits really well. And I got it on sale for only Php1100. So, go and shop now...

Tajimaya Charcoal Grill

My visit: October 30, 2010

Tajimaya Charcoal Grill
2nd floor SM Mall of Asia
JW Diokno Blvd.,
Brgy. 76, Pasay City

The waitress kept insisting their Wagyu beef on us. It's their specialty blah blah blah so much so that on the third try, DH had to cut her off and told her we were not interested so don't push it. We have no time to savor the meat because we have a fashion show to attend to in less than an hour.

2 person set PhP1200

We ordered a set for 2 persons instead which consists of 4 kinds of meat plus tiger prawns and squid. All were good except for one kind which was a bit hard to chew.

Oclipse by Obagi

I was at the Obagi Skin Care Clinic in Trinoma last October 24 to redeem my PhP5000 gift certificate. There were so much products and services to choose from but I have narrowed down my choices to Oclipse and the Vitamin C serum at 15%. Both products are priced at PhP4800 each.

Oclipse sunscreen + primer + SPF 30 + UVA/ UVB protection PhP4800

I tried and tested the Obagi Vitamin C serum. It lacked the instant tightness/firmness that I am used to with The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost. I was disappointed to say the least because I am looking forward to getting it. I even blogged about it in my previous post

Starbucks: Cinnamon roll and Lemon Poppy Seed muffin

My visit: October 24, 2010

Starbucks Coffee
Cinema level
6th floor, Shangri- la Plaza
EDSA corner Shaw Blvd.,
Mandaluyong City

Before my blog turns into an all fashion blog, I am sharing a food post for all you foodies out there!

cinnamon roll PhP49

Sneaky me, always when DH is not around, I will order a cinnamon roll. I am a late bloomer when it comes to the cinnamon taste. My palate was not accustomed to it but I learned how to like it. Now, I enjoyed it so much that I end up ordering it every time I go to Starbucks... without DH of course lol

The Eco Coffee cup

I receive a lot of giveaway goodies, some I have no use of while the others like this one, I like. Upon receiving this, I instantly thought of using it as my drinking glass in the office.

The Eco Coffee cup from The Handyman give away PhP549.75

I took it with me to the office the following day and I have been using it ever since. I put in water, buco juice, tea or anything but not coffee. I am not a coffee drinker lol

San Marino Tuna Paella

I got a sampler pack of San Marino tuna paella from The Philippine Fashion Week a few days ago. The expiration is not until 2013 and I didn't plan to eat it but I got hungry waiting for my parents to pick me up.

San Marino Tuna Paella

Even with the easy open can, I had a hard time pulling out the entire top lid. That explains why it's half open.

Essilor Transitions lenses

And so, I shifted from plastic to metal frame. That wasn't a very wise choice but what the heck! My quest to get in the fashion circle proves to be not practical at all lol Fashion before anything else ; p

Essilor Transitions lenses PhP4, 800

And so for the big reveal... I got Transitions lenses from Essilor, makers of Varilux (progressive lens), Nikon and Crizal Alize Coating (double coating used for the lens)! My lenses are more expensive than my Baby Phat eyeglass frame. Eeer, DH told me that I am nuts! And that I should not have picked out the tiniest frame. Transferring the lenses to another eyeglass frame in the future is now out of the question. Sometimes, I think I am not thinking. I may be indecisive at times but I like to think it through first. But in occasions like this, I am always dumbfounded! But I have no regrets getting Transitions lenses.

Philippine Fashion Week presents Ipanema Spring Summer 2011

My event: October 28, 2010

Ipanema presents Resort Wear Collection
Function Rooms 2 & 3
Philippine Fashion Week 2011
SMX Convention Center
Mall of Asia Complex
Pasay City

Last year, all I got was a sign up sheet for Philippine Fashion Week. Sadly, I was not able to attend to any one of the events. Friends of mine would know just how directionless I am. Night Event + Far = No intention of attending alone.

But this year it's different, I got a personal invite from ELRO, exclusive distributor of Ipanema and DH was willing to drive coming from the office. I have to let you in on a secret, DH has to be the one behind the lens so every photos appearing on this post was from his camera lens.

We were there a few minutes before 6pm. And the line was already quite long. I was given a bleacher seat and had doubt how DH can take a good photo from that spot. DH even muttered "You are not famous that's why you get that seat." Of course, he was kidding or was he not? I don't know. Good thing, I saw Tetcha who was on her way to the long queue along with her sister. She escorted me to another booth were Cel Mabalot was stationed. She handed a green circle sticker which I sticked on my blouse. Green Circle Stickers= First Row Seats!!!

Home Improvement: Zebra Plant and more!

Except for the last picture which is Zebra plant, I don't know the names of the plant in the following pictures below.
